@historyinmemes credits will transfer to the state college a few hours away if an advanced degree is desired. It tells students to use $2000/semester as an estimate. That is easily earned in the summer months with extra leftover for other expenses.
@historyinmemes You reference only tuition, no books, or room/board. So you have understated the cost *and* assumed that everyone could commute. My local community college is a part of the state's college system so...
@sjhshshsh46265@tonytypesalot@JuanPorrasFL@swaffarcongress Not really a choice in Florida. Builders have been required to set up HOAs for over 30 years. Any subdivision in the state bult since 1995 was legally required to have one. That's not a choice. It's really another tax.
@godsheros76762@engineers_feed If old Mr Ford were alive, he would agree with you. He wasn't trying to make an amazing car. He was trying to make an affordable one. He did.
@zdch@DKThomp Strongest predictor of achievement is parental expectation. Students expected to study and do their best typically do so. A few will do so even without the push; a few will refuse to do so even with it. Both extremes are an exception.
@jasonpedersen@egr_investor@DKThomp The derivative is the limit of the slope, not the slope itself. Without algebra, the slope formula can not be simplified nor the limit evaluated.
@RagingBuddhist@DKThomp And if the teacher introduces the concept and provides an opportunity for practice to master, but the student refuses and the parents take the child's side, how is that the fault of the system?
@Folkyhaunt @gumnutu66@stella_immanuel They existed. And died of anaphylaxis. Now, EpiPens let them live relatively normal lives, including having children they can pass their allergies down to. I'm not opposed to high quality medical care. But it does mean that people live to pass on their genetic abnormalities.
@Avalanche272@radicalcommerce@meaning_enjoyer This! A few Boomers view tech as an unnecessary tool. Most Zoomers view tech as toys instead of a tool. When school and work try to have them use tech as a tool, they get upset.
@penelopedidit2@MattWalshBlog Because at 75 living on ebt, she's also relying on Medicare. So, the people who buy her food and fund her health care should get a say in both.
@derbisch_@CoinTheorist@kirawontmiss I don't know, a good bit of money would help him rebuild faster. He could pay for upgrades that he had to earn last time. He could even have a chance to make it better since he's not hampered by the thinking of his 7yo self now. Shouldn't have been deleted, but reparations exist.
@MikeZ_TXVet82@libsoftiktok@PamelaS99694909 The teachers are ducking and trying to protect 29 kids from the violence of 1. Remove the 1, and they'd have much better success with the other 29.
@Tomhennessey69@pepesgrandma@libsoftiktok It's still culture. The number one predictor of student success is parental expectations. Parental expectations usually line up with the sub-culture they have chosen to live in.
@ThanksgivingDon@JAB1444@libsoftiktok The number one predictor of student success is parental expectations. Parents who expect nothing have children who do nothing. Parents who expect their child to perform to the best of their abilities have children who put in the necessary work to learn.
@gabbywalker907@debbiesuetooo@JAB1444@libsoftiktok It's not a *you* problem. You had high expectations for your children so they rose to the challenge. Did the majority of other children in the neighborhood school complete even the assigned portion of the book? Did they complete their math homework, even most of the time?
@Reddraghain1@JeffDye I am in the group of Conservatives who believes Trump will do a better job than Harris. I also believe both candidates are flawed. I had to pick the one with the flaws I disagreed with the least. I do wonder if we could have stronger candidates from both sides if we would listen.
@Reddraghain1@JeffDye From the conservative side, I first saw this when Bill Clinton ran for office. Don't speak against him, or youll be shunned. I'm not pretending it was wide-spread, but it was there. I'm sorry someone shunned you instead of listening to your concerns.
@yesitisuptome@JeffDye My tesponse: Then unfortunately we can't be friends. I encourage tolerance of other viewpoints within my circle of friends. Clearly, you don't want to fit into that circle.
