In case you have never seen it, this is how Google warns you when they detected government-backed attackers are hacking my accounts. It happens to less than 0.1% of all users, and I have been receiving the same alarms for years.
Guess which government sends these attackers?
THREAD:
1. HKgov annouced new requirement on civil servants to pledge loyalty to Beijing's handpicked government. Civil servants who are “carrying out activities that endanger national security” will face punishments. It restrians their freedom of speech and polticial opinion.
It is time to enact and impose financial/ economic sanction against the #CCP.
#Beijing has to pay for its material breach of the Sino-British Joint Declaration.
We trust @DominicRaab will act swiftly with measure that is more than #MagnitskyAct.
This morning more than 50 democratic activists were arrested, in the latest blow to freedom in #HongKong. #Taiwan will continue to resolutely support a free Hong Kong & stand up for our shared democratic values.
One week since we signed the #CAI , and then you read this. What about our European values-based trade agenda? Promoting democracy or executing your freedom of speech or association are no crimes. This crackdown must stop. #HongKong

#BREAKING: #IPAC statement on the arrest of over 50 Hong Kong activists.
We call on democratic countries to take immediate action at the United Nations and to consider what joint, punitive economic action can be taken to ensure the Chinese government reconsiders its actions.
The arrest of 50+ pro-democracy activists sends a signal that political pluralism is no longer tolerated in #HongKong. The #NSL is being deployed to crush dissent and stifle #HumanRights. The #EU calls for their immediate release

Today I have the opportunity and the obligation to speak for my constituents and to object during the electoral college certification. I look forward to the debate
//These EU arguments sound tough-minded. But, in fact, they are naive. It is naive to believe that China will respect the agreement it has signed.//

If today's news in HK shocks you, rmbr that an entire govt agency was created for this, solely dedicated to political prosecution of any opposition and dissent. It's our own Gestapo.
It's just the beginning. It'll continue to do stuff like this to justify its own existence.
Hong Kong police arrested dozens of pro-democracy politicians in raids that swept up many prominent opposition figures, according to social media posts https://t.co/sPsOTGUdlO
We condemn the arrests of 52 pro-democracy politicians who ran in the primaries last July that drew 600,000+ HKers. Among the arrested were veteran lawmakers, as well as Jeffrey Andrews, first ethnic minority social worker to run. They are charged with “subversion to the state”.
