Today, it’s about housing in #Baltimore - should the city prioritize making vacant housing livable, or build new housing? Join us today and every Friday afternoon at 2 on @WYPR881FM
Back on Twitter just today just to announce this - I’m hosting a weekly show each Friday afternoon at 2 on @WYPR881FM The Friday News Roundup will look at questions facing the #Baltimore region each week, and we want you to be a part of the conversation!
And just like that...96% of #Baltimore city precincts now reporting #MDPolitics Question F (Harborplace) passing 60-40 while Question H (city council shrinking) failing 63-37 #Maryland Safe to say those are the results #Election2024
Only 36% of precincts in #Baltimore city have reported as of 11:11, so the results we've seen so far haven't changed #MDPolitics I think we'd all like to make a wish they start coming in now...
Out in MD-6 the remaining precincts to report are in Montgomery County, where Delaney is leading that race 71 to 29 #MDPolitics#Maryland#MoCo So....long way to go there as Parrott lead is now under 8k #Election2024
Out in MD-6 neither candidate is conceding or declaring victory #Maryland Republican Neil Parrott leads Democrat April Delaney by a little over 9k votes #MDPolitics 70% of precincts in #Election2024 Would be a flip to GOP, but it tooks several days to declare winner there in 2022
Gov races are different than Senate races…but Maryland Dems clearly learned something from Hogan’s reelection in 2018.
They nominated a candidate who:
✅has broad ideological appeal
✅built positive, cooperative relationships with the overwhelming majority of elected MD Dems. They basically all campaigned for her.
✅could stay on and drive a message
✅could could neutralize Hogan’s personal popularity without alienating voters who cast a ballot for him.
✅effectively tied Hogan to national GOP policies instead of trying to make voters believe he was just like Trump.
77% in now in #BaltimoreCounty and Question A is passing 60-40 (55k votes) so safe to say the county council will be expanding to 9 members (and a lawsuit against the county over the proposed map for districts is ready to be filed) #MDPolitics#Maryland#Election2024
In #BaltimoreCounty with 46% of #ElectionDay precincts reporting (plus early & mail-in votes) Question A, which expands the county council by two seats, being approved 60-40 #Maryland#MDPolitics
WIth 36% of #ElectionDay precincts reporting (in addition to mail-in & early ballots) in #Baltimore city Question F (Harborplace) passing 60-40 while Question H (city council shrinking) being disapproved 62-38 #MDPolitics
Associated Press is also projecting that Question 1, which enshrines right to abortion in #Maryland state constitution, will pass #MDPolitics#Election2024
Associated Press is projecting that Angela Alsobrooks will win #Maryland Senate race #MDPolitics Prince George's County Executive defeats former Governor Larry Hogan in race Democrats had to win to keep any chance of holding majority #Election2024
First batch of results - with 17.6% reporting Alsobrooks 55 Hogan 42 Question 1 (abortion codified in state constitution) passing 74-25 #MDPolitics#Maryland#electionday2024
