Yep. Its ruthless, unforgiving, often times no gratification then you finally put it out there only to get death threats, insults, "dead game" after 14 years of work...
Then you keep building to try to give your family a better life while screaming inside always.
Don't let them change who you are. Support what you want. It's easy to get jealous of smaller scope games getting attention when you're building something "bigger" ultimately, even with your IGJ super powers, it's your right to support what you enjoy no matter what scope/size.
I really feel this isn't a fair take. I thought this was a silly, funny project. I was a decorator for 10 years, so it made me laugh.
Insinuating I don't promote proper games when I share hundreds of them each month in my spare time for free just feels... yeah... I dunno guys.
.@IndieGameJoe we'd love you to check out our co-op street martial arts looter brawler. Think 90s beat em' up in a modern engine. TMNT meets SF

@IndieGameJoe We just launched to steam today, we're a bunch of ex-AAA devs, dads, etc. that have been bootstrapping for a year trying to raise money for our studio.
Twin Hooks is a street martial arts co-op, beat 'em up.

Anyone happen to know anyone at Valve that can help expedite a steam page approval? We're days late on an announce campaign and its getting scary. Can't believe this is the process in 2026.
