If Musk & his pals are so concerned about increasing the national debt in Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill, why don’t they cut the $664 billion in tax breaks for the 1%; the $420 billion in tax breaks for large profitable corporations; & the $150 billion in increased military spending?
The main problem I have with pop-Nietzscheans is that they consistently misidentify which of these two is a genuine Übermensch and which is motivated by "ressentiment."
Does anybody else find it suspicious that all the people who disagree with me have more plausible arguments, better evidence for their key premises, and a much more well worked out theory of the phenomena? A bit convenient isn't it?
FYI this isn't stopping. There have been 18 mass shootings SINCE Uvalde.

It’s a mistake to read Hobbes only as a political philosopher as is so often done. He has a rich metaphysics, epistemology, philosophy of language, philosophy of religion, and so on, all of which repay close study.
Shouting down a speaker at a designated event isn't exercising "free speech" in the same way that punching someone whose opinions you dislike isn't free speech. It is instead a coercive method to stifle discussion among people exercising their rights.

I'm really concerned for the philosophy profession. So many young scholars are unwilling to engage with positions that challenge their dearly held convictions. This is what philosophers are supposed to do. Why is there so much closed-mindedness among younger philosophers?
