@NeilCox139@MatthewStadlen@beverleyturner He's privileged, but not the sort of privileged that would make you demand everyone gets poorer so Farage can give him a tax cut. Sort of in the middle.
@MHDU24@soccerpaedia I know loads of Americans (I have family out there) and you're right. Individually we can be very similar. But culturally/societally we're wildly different... for now.
@MHDU24@soccerpaedia 2/2 and this WC just encapsulates it all. The American way is to celebrate success (as money) over everything. Bigger is better. New is better than old. Shiny and big = the best. If you can't afford a ticket, we don't care - you should try being more successful.
@MHDU24@soccerpaedia It's also a wider thing. Lots of English fans hate what's happening to our own game. Fans being priced out; money being celebrated over everything else; business over fan experience; over-commercialisation of EVERYTHING; the loss of community-tied clubs... (and so much more) 1/2
@Europoorupset@Chesrjdl I'm with the other commenter that I actually quite like America for the most part, but you don't do self awareness too well.
"Americans celebrate and enjoy European culture" on an account set up purely to trash Europe is a *little* disingenuous...
Goddamn. Just when you're ready to dump the binfire that is X, along comes @HunterBiden to save Elon's ass. Which bizarre alternative timeline are we in now?
@lukejcr@nw_nicholas@ZiaYusufUK The party that’s going to streamline the NHS and save us money is angry about… the NHS streamlining its services to save us money.
Brilliant.
@bortinez_@AndyBurnhamGM@juneslater17 Why don't you be a man and take responsibility for it, then? I'm sure June could have a go at you for the overspend instead.
@VaughnHebron@mariacaulfield@Jenny_1884@thegingerpig It's definitely in English, 'chum'. You didn't pay tax on your pension contributions when you earned that money back in the day. So if it's given to you tax-free now, you owe the state some cash.
