@ChurchTimes Why are police not involved in investigating? Sexual harassment and assault are crimes, are they not? So as allegations of this kind were made, it should not simply be the church investigating itself.
@CapelLofft Fantastic you are bringing your child to church. I’m sad for the curate that they can’t see how valuable children and young people’s engagement with church is.
@holland_tom Great. Word to the wise (said as a Brit living in Cork a good while) for the love of all that ‘has a sacral quality’ don’t try an Irish accent. Really, just don’t!
“It's okay for somebody who's a Marxist to bring what they've learned from Das Kapital into the room, but not to take what you believe from the Bible. That's nonsense, isn't it?”
@TimFarron tells #TimesRadio that being religious can be a bar to serving in high public office.
@liambeadle 'All are welcome to join us for our worship service starting shortly', or any variant of would be good. I'm curious who the 'bouncers' let in with no questions asked - those they know, or 'people who look like them' etc...
#autismclasses Thank you to everyone who signed a postcard asking Minister Josepha Madigan and NCSE CEO John Kearney to make sure Ballincollig has enough autism class places for all the children who need one. @josephamadigan@EoinBearla @eolanryngsf @MichaelCreedTD
@glenscrivener Useful ways forward could include unpacking the anglican '5 marks of mission' in meaningful ways, or Michael Frosts' 'Facets of the reign of God' (reconciliation, justice, beauty, wholeness). Fujimura has something restorative to say in Art + Faith around creativity and healing..
@glenscrivener A good article raising helpful points about the trellis, which is for sure sometimes warped. I would love to read a follow on article where you expand on the last paragraph, with a focus on ways to mend the broken trellis... 1/2
Our new summer series - called 'Rooted' starts this week in church. I'm looking forward to it and if you are around Ballincollig, Cork, sure there are worse places to be at 11am on a Sunday!
