Bucha. It was a genocide, recognized by everyone. They buried hundreds of people. They tortured people. We found the grave. There were, I believe, around 500 people. When we liberated those towns near Kyiv, there emerged this, you know, this kind of hatred for the Russians, right at that moment. Not even at the moment when they started the full-scale war. Back then nobody understood what it really was yet. People understood what this war was and what Putin did personally when we found those mass graves of tortured adults, children. I mean they didn't just kill them, they tortured and killed them.
When we liberated Bucha, I said, bring every journalist here. Don't touch anything, just bring the journalists. The whole world simply has to see this. Imagine finding a mass grave in the U.S. or in Britain, God forbid, with 500 tortured people, adults, kids, dogs, animals shot dead. I mean, they held hunting sprees there from military vehicles. People were running, they were shooting, just hunting, playing games. They literally just played with people, like slavery. So how, after this, can you listen to Putin? And how, after this, can you forgive?
From The Diary of a CEO podcast with Steven Bartlett. (2/3)
The final pieces of the puzzle are falling into place, revealing an increasingly disturbing picture of what is happening behind the scenes in Washington.
If you are still wondering where Donald Trump's hysterical attacks on Kyiv come from, why he keeps making absurd claims about "the rain that saved Ukraine," and why he responds so aggressively to journalists who challenge him, consider the analysis of someone who understands the inner workings of the White House.
Dr. Fiona Hill, a former senior White House national security official and one of America's leading experts on Russia, has offered a deeply troubling interpretation of Trump's behavior.
Trump wants Zelenskyy to capitulate.
Why? Because, according to this interpretation, the entire situation comes down to something painfully simple: Trump's wounded ego.
This is a man who promised to end the war in Ukraine within 24 hours. He imagined himself receiving the Nobel Peace Prize and being celebrated as one of the greatest peacemakers in history. He envisioned a spectacular diplomatic triumph that would secure his place in the history books.
Instead, his grand promises have collided with reality.
Months have passed, the magical peace agreement has failed to materialize, and the Kremlin dictator continues to reject proposals that do not satisfy his demands. Putin has repeatedly demonstrated that he has little interest in helping Trump achieve his political ambitions.
So who should Trump blame for this humiliating failure?
Himself? Absolutely not. In Trump's political universe, admitting a mistake is practically unthinkable.
Putin? Apparently not. Trump continues to treat the Kremlin dictator as a powerful leader worthy of respect, despite Russia's continuing destruction of Ukrainian cities and the deaths of innocent civilians.
That leaves one convenient target: Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Trump is furious because the Ukrainian president refuses to surrender, refuses to kneel before Moscow, and refuses to sign an agreement that would sacrifice his country's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He is furious because an entire nation refuses to capitulate to an aggressor merely so the 47th president of the United States can stand before the cameras and declare himself the man who ended the war.
And now, as Hill's analysis suggests, the pressure is increasingly being directed not at Moscow, which launched the invasion, but at Kyiv, which is fighting for its survival.
The apparent calculation is that Washington, potentially supported by war-weary European governments, can pressure Ukraine into accepting terms that would allow Trump to claim a diplomatic victory, regardless of the long-term consequences for Ukrainian security.
But the price of this political spectacle is not measured in television ratings, headlines, or Nobel Prize nominations.
It is measured in the blood of Ukrainian soldiers defending their country in freezing trenches. It is measured in the lives of civilians killed by Russian missiles and drones, in destroyed homes, shattered families, kidnapped children, and entire cities reduced to ruins.
Ukraine is fighting an aggressor determined to destroy its independence. At the same time, Ukrainians must confront the possibility that some of those who call themselves allies may place their own political ambitions above Ukraine's survival.
There is something profoundly disturbing about demanding concessions from the country being invaded while treating the invading dictator as an indispensable partner in negotiations.
Ukraine did not start this war.Ukraine did not invade Russia.Ukraine is not responsible for Putin's imperial ambitions or Trump's unfulfilled political promises.
And Ukrainians should not be expected to pay for anyone's wounded pride with their freedom, their territory,or their lives.
A peace agreement that rewards aggression and leaves Ukraine defenseless is not a historic diplomatic victory. It risks becoming an invitation to the next war.
This Bartlett interview with President Zelenskyy was incredible. Highly recommend watching it start to finish.
This is what all those with a platform should do - amplify the truth about russia's war and Ukraine's heroism under russia's monstrously barbaric siege.
Trump: "We've given more money to Ukraine than almost anybody over the years, hundreds of billions of dollars. We've got nothing back other than high diesel. American taxpayers are tired of it."
The US hasn't provided aid to Ukraine since Trump took office. Instead, they SELL military equipment to NATO allies, who then transfer it to Ukraine.
And by the way, the US is currently withholding lifesaving air defense missiles that our allies have already paid for!
Name one person. Sanctions were still in place when Russia released Marc Fogel in 2025. The U.S. and Germany traded Putin's hitman Vadim Krasikov and other criminals for Paul Whelan, Evan Gershkovich and a collection Russian dissidents -- also without lifting any sanctions. Trump is treating the release of an American Russia took hostage as if it's a breakthrough requiring economic normalization to achieve. It isn't. But to test his hypothesis: now that Hubbard is headed home, he should have no problem canceling his sanctions waiver.
This is one of the finest, most powerful television ads I've every seen. Do American a favor and share this everywhere.
Heart, not policy papers.
Love, not hate.
Hope, not fear.
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.
Texas was built by hope. By people who had no business believing — but believed anyway.
To every Texan who’s ever wondered if anyone in power is paying attention: We are taking our state back.
Because a little bit of hope is a dangerous thing.
The lesson to be learned from this is that if the US imposes sanctions on you, you should detain as many US nationals as possible on bogus charges, then gradually release them in exchange for sanctions relief or other concessions. Rinse and repeat.
If crippling Starlink and Starshield was Elon Musk's decision, the implications are enormous. It would demonstrate that SpaceX is an unreliable defense contractor, whose critical services can be disrupted at the whim of its CEO.
No private individual should wield this much unchecked power over another country's national security. Governments must be able to rely on contracted defense services without fear of political or personal interference.
Nationalization is an option worth considering, not as punishment, but to ensure government control over strategically indispensable infrastructure. At a minimum, stronger oversight and alternatives to SpaceX are urgently needed.
Russia transports tanks to Africa on civilian ships that sail from the Baltic through the English Channel, between Britain and France.
🧵Why won't European navies stop them? [1/10]
A year old Angelina that was killed by russia drone in Nova Vodolaga, her mother and two other victims had their funerals today.
I have a one year old child myself together with other two daughters, it's heartbreaking to watch.
We could all use a Mark Carney right now. Just listen to the man.
While Musk interferes in Canadian politics and Starlink raises serious questions about technological sovereignty, Carney is investing in Canadian alternatives.
This is what leadership looks like. No grovelling, no desperate attempts to flatter billionaires, and no surrendering national security to the whims of one man.
Europe, take notes.
Kyiv. Holy fucking shit. The explosions are so fucking loud. One hit so close, I could hear someone’s windows shattering.
Judging by the sound, at least three appeared to be cluster warheads.
russia is a fucking terrorist state.
Russia is our enemy and any American citizen aiding and abetting their illegal war against Ukraine should face criminal charges. (Various Trumps, Elon, Jared, Witkoff, Ritter, Bessent, Gabbard…the list is long.)
Let's just make this clear: Witkoff calls the bloodiest dictator, indicted war criminal, and child murderer, Putin, a "humanitarian" not for some massive concession, not for agreeing to stop the war, but for releasing a person they captured in a foreign country where that person was simply living their life, posing no threat, and breaking no laws.
They captured him there during an illegal invasion, kept him in awful conditions, and brutally tortured him for four years. They released him now, which is good, I'm happy for him and his loved ones, but after everything that's been done, how can a bloody dictator who did all that to someone be called a "humanitarian" just for releasing them? This is simply humiliating for America. He must be charged arrested prosecuted and executed not kissed in the butt!
