Herbal Leys, attenuation ponds and rain gardens all part of very constructive discussions today with Alconbury Flood Action Group, local farmers, the EA, Natural England and Anglian Water Services. We are working together to reduce flood risk whilst supporting innovation.

Brilliant first day at the SARCC conference. Nature based solutions are so important to regaining control of our coast lines, and the route to net 0. #GreeningTheGray#SARCCevent
Public consultations launched today on two new strategic reservoirs for eastern England:
- Fens Reservoir: https://t.co/PVwVsj7YFf
- Lincolnshire Reservoir: https://t.co/EKJK3hWNR6
Both are needed to meet the water supply deficits identified in @WaterREast's regional plan.
Amazing two days at the #IoW2022@InstWater conference in Leeds. Leaving feel empowered, motivated and ready to make a difference. Great memories and some great new connections.
Keep your soil healthy by adding chunky organic matter, particularly for new plantings. It'll shade and cool plant roots and help the rain to get in.

If you haven’t got a water butt then now is the time! Rain water is great for gardens as it contains nitrates, and has less salts and chemicals than tap water.

@AnglianWater have contributed towards the #Dunstable High Street renovation works, creating rain gardens to protect properties from flooding, and increasing #biodiversity. Another scheme funded through our industry leading flood risk partnership funding programme. #SuDS
Had the pleasure of seeing the recently completed #SuDS in school project today at @1oakthorpe. The head teacher and the children are so passionate about sustainable drainage. It was an absolute privilege. Keep up the great work @1oakthorpe 👏🌲
Another great day looking at #SuDS best practice with other colleagues from @AnglianWater. Thanks to the amazing @GeorgeWarren8 for getting it arranged, and @EnfieldCouncil for showing us around.
Another great day looking at the mechanics of the various surface water reservoirs Milton Keynes, along with @JGwater and the local @AnglianWater network manager. These lakes do such an important job managing the surface water flow from the city.
