„#Microplastics were detected in all semen & urine samples, with participants typically exposed to 3–5 different types. The detection rates of PS, PP & PE were the highest. Notably, PTFE exposure was significantly associated with decreased semen quality.“

Ep.20 of Science FOR the Anthropocene #S4A 'Learning to Fly' podcast explores the planetary boundary of 'novel entities' - chemical pollution etc... - with lead authors Cynthia de Wit and Matthew MacLeod @MattMacL https://t.co/dRgRt18yMA
Extremely thankful and delighted that the team won this best paper award. Although it was a team effort, Amanda gets most of the credit for sure! #PFAS#Batteries@JonBenskin

In her research, Professor De Wit showed the increasing concentration of brominated flame retardants in breast milk and in the eggs of birds, like peregrine falcons. Some of these substances are now banned, partly due to her work.
Head of Department Professor Anna Sobek opened the session by thanking Professor De Wit for "always saying" to taking on challenges that benefited all.
Professor Matt MacLeod @MattMacL followed with a "scientific analysis" of Professor De Wit's contribution to science!
In just over one hour (13:00 CET) join our Special Symposium recognizing the retirement of Professor Cynthia de Wit.
Science and stories all afternoon!
