We can't make change without hearing your voice! 😩
I really need COLLEGIATE ATs WITH 12 or LESS YEARS OF EXPERIENCE to participate in an interview regarding strategies to improve retention of ATs in the college/university setting. 🙏🏽
If you're interested, shoot me a DM.
@the_real_KG2001 Hey Karen! It’s not allowing me to send you a DM right now. I’d definitely like to take you up on that! I also have some AT Educator-centric questions that maybe you could answer! If your open to it, I’d love to chat with you!
@SchneidKyle@NickHoopes_@NATA1950 I love that you brought this up! We (the @NATA_CAC) have been trying to account for this with our national award. I would love to hear your thoughts on how we can capture a bigger part of the profession! I won’t volunteer @YoungProf_AT but I’d imagine she’d say the same thing!
Earlier today @GovKathyHochul signed A.219/S.942, putting into law licensure for athletic trainers in NY State❗️
This is the cumulation of 12 years of work by @GO_NYSATA Governmental Affairs & lobbyists and also updates the practice act 🙌

@Lauren_HoytATC@WomackZac@mnhopper1s Many also learn about their own identities, interests, etc. beyond their jobs. Crap free time/leave doesn’t support this.
When does all of this typically occur? Early adulthood. Generally the same time as the 5-7 year post-cert time frame.
@Lauren_HoytATC@WomackZac@mnhopper1s ATs and other athletic support staff work insane hours yet have no incentives or bonuses like other positions.
Our society/culture expects young parents (especially mothers) to carry the burden of child rearing without support (crappy parental leave, expensive child care…)
