Update: The charges against the white man who was assaulted have been dropped.

The two black men who attacked him have been let off with a slap on the wrist.

And the police are still in denial.

Even after the footage went viral - and clearly absolved Harper of wrongdoing - they still pursued him, passing evidence to the CPS several days later.

Meanwhile the young lads who assaulted him have been given out of court disposals.

Will the Home Secretary now comment on the case?

Will she finally acknowledge two-tier policing and rid forces of training and guidance that direct officers to treat people differently?

We desperately need to restore equality before the law.

Only Reform will fix it.

🚨Charges dropped.

West Midlands Police arrested and charged Cody Harper for assaulting an officer after he was jumped and beaten by a group on Broad Street.

They defended the officer’s actions as “reasonable and proportionate” while the actual attackers walked away.

Only after the video went viral and huge public pressure forced a CPS review did they finally drop the charges — on the eve of his court date.

This is exactly why people talk about two-tier policing and police overreach. They went after the victim first and only backed down when they couldn’t ignore the evidence anymore.

Justice shouldn’t require a social media storm.

It's terrible to realise, but social media is a core component of justice in Britain, now.

If a video of the event isn't taken, and it doesn't go viral on X, then you will not get justice if you are attacked.

No wonder the British state intends to clamp down on it.
