Amazing work by the Clinical Advisory Council. They continue to demonstrate the value and critical need for the physician’s voice in standards development.

@SheenaBhallaMD@JAMANetworkOpen AMA emphasizes need for flexibility in communicating life changing/limiting news to patients.
Should not be dictated by government or those who oversimplify.
Must consider what the patient wants, not what others assert they need.
Info-blocking regs cannot be one-size-fits-all.

“Last night’s removal of CDC Director Susan Monarez and the resignations of other senior CDC leaders are highly alarming at a challenging moment for public health. This destabilization comes at a time when CDC’s credibility and leadership are more essential than ever...We must restore confidence in our public health institutions to ensure that scientific expertise and data drive guidance and policy.” Read #OurAMA's full statement: https://t.co/plbTNQqzXN

For the sake of Medicare patients, I hope @CMSGov takes the concerns in this letter from @AmerMedicalAssn seriously. Otherwise, this new model will force a number of physicians to close their practices to new Medicare patients in order to maintain financial viability.
Absolutely agree. We HAVE heard these promises before...7 years ago in fact!
The insurance industry made almost the exact same commitments before...let's hope this time it's actually different...and not another attempt to avoid more regs & legislation...

An unfortunate series of events. A for effort, F for feasibility. I haven't always agreed with @HHS_TechPolicy but their aim has been true. Patients, physicians, and interoperability deserve better.

Tips from @Sage_Eastman@MehlmanConsult at #AMANAC
We need to be in the room when they’re making decisions that impact us.
Democracy is a contact sports. You need to be willing to get in the game.
In visits w/ legislators tell a story put a face on issues.
Engage back home.
Looking forward to @Cigna implementing important reforms.
🤔 If they would follow through on commitments by the insurance industry 7️⃣ years ago in 2018, to decrease barriers to medically necessary care, that would be even better.
