@AliMaxwell_@Thomas_Lane11 Clarke has been much more influential off the bench running directly at tired defenders than when he starts. It’s worked all season and fair play to McKenna for sticking with it. Clarke’s attitude to accept and understand his role is a huge credit to him. POTS for me.
@maddogman17 A performance we’ve not given in the derby for years. It meant everything to them, which hasn’t always been the case. O’Shea was outstanding. Become a proper leader, got us together when we conceded last week - we then scored two in four minutes to win the game.
@maddogman17 Who knows what the truth is? Sure it will come out eventually.
If the owners wanted him invited, Mark and Marcus couldn’t do a lot about it and they are being thrown under the bus completely. If they orchestrated it, that is a different story.
@maddogman17 Hope that is the case, I gave up predicting politics a long time ago! Can’t believe we’ve taken the option of just hoping it all blows over and saying nothing else. International break fallen at a good time for them to go silent.
@NickAmes82 It’s the statement which compounds the insult to our community, Nick. I’m willing to accept a mistake, but to double down on it shows huge disregard to the diversity and inclusivity they talk about. And at such a vital point in the season.
@kevindburch Exactly this. No doubt it is with view of future Reform run council and probably the local MP too. Can’t argue with that as a business. But they’ve absolutely sold their soul to allow what they have. Should have held their hands up immediately. The statement was an insult #itfc
Following Monday’s visit by the Reform party and its leader, Nigel Farage, the club would like to issue the following statement:
Ipswich Town Football Club has, over several years, hosted representatives from a range of political parties. The club remains apolitical and does not support or endorse any individual or party.
The club will continue to engage with representatives from across the political spectrum as part of its role within the community.
Ipswich Town is proud to be an inclusive, diverse, and welcoming organisation that supports all members of the local and wider community. This commitment remains unchanged.
@Quayt01 @DooleOllie@Stuart_Watson I can’t accept that a) no one knew who he was and/or b) that’s it’s a normal thing to peel off and start doing a piece to camera during a tour and no one to think that is weird.
@Chris_BoroUTB We had this the year we went up. We were such an underdog he just wrote us off at every stage and then was obviously fuming every time we won. Even to the point a player called him out at the promotion parade. At least we can unite on how terrible the coverage is!
