Are We Really Supporting Veterans—or Just Spending Money?
A recent @RAND report uncovered 45 federal programs across 11 agencies spending $14.3 billion each year on veteran services. But here’s the kicker: @SecVetAffairs@DeptVetAffairs
•Just four programs account for 94% of that spending.
•And 97% of those dollars go toward education benefits.
Education is vital—but transition is about more than a classroom. What about housing? Mental health? Job training? Reintegration?
Right now, we don’t even know if all these programs are working together—or working at all. There’s little measurement of outcomes. No clear assessment of what’s effective. And a real risk of redundancy.
We need more than good intentions—we need accountability, data, and coordinated action to truly serve those who served us.
It’s time to ask the hard questions. It’s time to build smarter systems.
Battle Buddy just surpassed 30,000 downloads. Excited to testify at the #military and #veterans affairs committee Tuesday on the need for digital platforms to enhance veterans resource provision. Happy Easter.
@swankywolverine One of my father’s favorite teammates Butch Wolfolk and the son of another… can’t remember his name though. Think he might have played here too 🤣😂🤣
I NEED UR REPOSTS of #WeDriveFor. 2,000 RP TODAY will raise $10,000. I have advocated 4 women my whole life & 17 years have used my voice 2 help end breast cancer--a humbling WIN off the field! Each repost = $5 donated. PLS RP in honor of my THRIVER friend Barb who inspires me!
Love these aggressive swings after working the counts in the favor. Giving us an early lead with Skubal on the mound is huuuuuuuge #eatemuptigers#EAT#EM#UP
He challenged everyone to become the best versions of themselves. You will see Michigan’s greatest athletes pay tribute to him today, but there isn’t a single person who came in contact with Greg who wasn’t uplifted by his spirit… #forevergoblue
