@SpectatorOz Spot on. Eventually it's the electorate which has to come to support civilisation & production over adversarial tribalism & parasitism.
@TheMcMullan Qantas staff needn't (and therefore shouldn't) invoke "other cultures" or "everyone else's thoughts" for enforcing their dress code. They only have to invoke that it is their dress code.
@SRCHicks I think this was what Environmental Determinism tried to answer. But ED only showed that favourable environment is necessary but not sufficient for material progress.
@bradcoleharris I agree. But also in both directions in this instance. The writer did a good assessment of what's wrong with others, but could be more skeptical about himself, namely his "pause" and the merit of altruistic morality.
@FlaneurPolitiq@senbmckenzie@CPACaustralia This should be interesting.
Which LNP MP's are real liberals, again? Ones that would actually reduce the scope of govt.?
Or real conservatives - that would actually reduce immigration and set a reasonable minimum level of English & institutional knowledge?
@SpectatorOz Just read the first pages of the quran; it could be summed up as "if you're one of us, you're good, don't question things; if you're not one of us, you're bad".
Pure adversarial tribalism.
@FlaneurPolitiq@HonTonyAbbott@CPACaustralia Translation: that means actually standing for some coherent set of ideas on principle. The Liberal Party should stand for liberalism.
