Lots of people also wanting a free year of Refrag.
How about this, retweet this tweet with your guess for the Cologne Major winner. And we'll give one of the correct guesses a year of Refrag.
@solgob_@roaldvanbuuren Deadlock has all the right foundations. There is a bit of luck on whether the competitive scene will have a true "esports" scene, but they've got the right ingredients to make it happen.
Games need to support mods, dedicated servers, dedicated play groups (via in-game systems), and have the stability to last 10+ years.
With every new game going with a live service model, nobody wants to build communities that support those games. The feeling that devs want to own the entire experience ruins any chance of a game having a natural competitive scene.
@Ritu19Singh@vivoplt Reddit contains about 1% of the most miserable people who typically post when they're upset/emotional, and get a lot of folks who are similarly upset/emotional.
It's not a good pulse of the industry at all. It's a good pulse of the most visibly frustrated people.
It's a smokescreen to appease investors. Payroll is always the highest cost of every company, investments are drying up, and the need to downsize.
Rather than companies admitting they overhired and had no realistic plan, they can just say "so much efficiency due to AI", downsize their company, and they see their stock prices rise.
Does it matter if they're actually seeing improvements due to AI? Absolutely not. They just need a compelling story to tell investors.
Before AI, downsizing was seen as a negative indicator and their stocks would plummet. But now they've got a catchy buzzword to make it seem like these moves are a smart/good idea.
I love the lore and worldbuilding aspects, but they do feel a bit out-of-place in an extraction shooter. Some PvE or Co-ops modes would be a really good fit, both to expand the lore and be a bit more mission-driven, while setting itself out of the PvP loop.
I like the PvP loop and think it's the best part, but I think building a bridge to more casual players is needed. I also think it'd play well to the strengths of their visual design, too.
@cyrano54@bengalbadboy@NickRicci5@sentdefender DEI is about promoting people based on their merits. Anti-DEI is about promoting people based on their religion, skin color, or ability to drink.
@haha_girrrl The only people who are saying AI is going to take all the jobs at AI company CEOs. Just block and ignore, AI is not anywhere good enough to take anyone's job.
