@RedsInFour I feel like a big boost to all hitting in MLB would be limiting shifts further to only a small area around each position. Even now, hits right up the middle are being caught easily because of shifts. Hitting is hard enough already
@earlyvotedata There’s been a noticeable decline in all forms of education once schools moved to using laptops in classes. Just go back to pen and paper and no technology. And actually hold kids back who need the extra help
@SteveOnSpeed@Cryptoboyy_Aji This is valid for millions of young adults. They’re facing much higher percentage of take home pay for homes than past generations and it’s getting worse. Self pity is bad for sure but what do you think happens when the young people of a country lose all hope in their future?
@bryce_spalding The thing nobody talks about is that it “looks” like there’s been parity in MLB because of the sport. The sport itself is fairly random in the playoffs. Reality is only orgs in top 15 of payroll have won WS the last 10 years and there’s a large competitive gap with spending
@TFG_Football MLB has also said they’re willing to make many other concessions to FA and arbitration. I think there’ll be a bit of a fight within the MLBPA since it’s hard to deny that this will improve player salaries around the league but hurt top players pay
@TFG_Football Also the salary floor needs to be 90% of the cap, not 70%. But it’s a fair deal the owners offered so far. It’ll also raise the average salary of the players not in the top 5% of the league.
@McRojas52@BurghFan99@EvanDrellich Because it’s a league and the Dodgers cant grow the league past a certain point. What happens when the league has 4 teams who can support a competitive team and the rest can’t? The NFL understands that and it’s why their revenue sharing allows all teams to spend to the cap.
@IronBullForge76@rationalyankee NFL understands that it needs its small markets for health of the laughed as a whole. Yes the major markets get most coverage in media but small markets having a fair shot is good for the league
@IronBullForge76@rationalyankee “Minority of fans” because the small markets are unable to grow organically when all their players leave for large markets. Their roster turnover is crazy. Big markets might account for the most fans but that’s not healthy for a league to struggle growing in nearly 20 markets
@JayRBP@skraxxy The last 10 World Series winners have been in the top 15 (one was 16th I think) of payroll for their respective year. So essentially the bottom 10-15 are “locked out”
@_24kin MLB parity is due to the randomness of the sport. Competitive imbalance issues are still very prevent compared to other leagues. The last 10 World Series winners have only been in the top 15 of payroll for that respective year. NFL is more balanced even with the dominant runs.
@BurghFan99@McRojas52@EvanDrellich It won’t fix the issues many orgs have, the competitive balance issues brought from overspending will decrease. Bad orgs will be bad still but good orgs who don’t make much (rays) will be even better. Overall the league benefits from good competition. NFL understands this best.
@MooneyOwnsYou@MkPaxson No they won’t. This will decrease what the elite players get and will raise the salary for the average major league player. That is the intention behind the proposal
@McRojas52@EvanDrellich MLB owners all voted on it already or it wouldn’t be proposed to mlbpa lol they only get one vote. Majority of owners approved this offer
@MkPaxson@MooneyOwnsYou The best players will benefit the least from this. 85% of mlb players will love this. The other 10-15% will hate it because it caps their large contracts.
