However it is a fact that there are active campaigns to get girls into STEM. You said they are not encouraged but reality says otherwise.

Meanwhile, boys interested in trades (like my nephews) face less equivalent pushing into STEM. I have 2 sons, same story already unfolding.

It shows boys rate their math ability higher than girls even with the same actual performance. Yet despite this confidence gap, girls are still heavily recruited and funneled into STEM.

Girls today are actively pushed into STEM through targeted programs, curriculum, scholarships, mentorships, and constant messaging, whether it matches their interests or not. That’s not the same as “access.”

My neice is a software engineer and My daughter is in 10th grade and taking pre-calc Chem and programming classes. My nephews are auto mechanics and firefighters.

Spotting at the wrist is wrong for experienced heavy lifters because it can interfere with natural path. This is a heavy lift... too heavy. Lifter is wrong, not the spotter.
