i don’t know if yall have noticed this but i said this back when the Charlotte Hornets drafted Kon Knueppel.. but it’s very evident the Hornets front office is gentrifying this Charlotte Hornets team
they’re trading away all the players they view as thugs/YNs and they’re replacing them with what they view as high character guys. It’s a total OPTICS and corporate America overhaul happening in Charlotte.
@DragonflyJonez I’m not sure it’s any of that. I’m sure it’s more nuanced, but it sounds like history shaped her opinion and not totally Brunson. Historically small guys don’t win championships as the best player. He’s like 1 of 3 in the last 35 years?
@justposa@BarstoolBigCat It also feels like it’s out way later during this time when it used to. It’s 8:15 and it’s still light out. That’s supposed to be in July. Not May.
@Ayo_TTime9 Doubt it. He was a reason for our issues and our former OC was too. Both issues now not on campus. Hopefully Dabo going back to his “instincts” works.
@rodboone The amount of physicality one team is being allowed to play with compared to the other is incredible.
Also, I’ve never seen a team up by this my cry and whine about every call like the Magic have.
So Big Brain Noah here is using a postseason game (something Flagg is not in) to discuss a regular season award.
He’s also using 10 point games or less as a statistic that’s actually relevant for this discussion is also just insane.
And @mcuban is over here retweeting nonsense
Kon Knueppel just finished with six points on 2-12 shooting and was a -20 in a win-or-go-home game. His head coach benched him for the end of the fourth and all of overtime. His team still won.
This was the sixth time that Knueppel finished with less than 10 points this season. Third time in the last month.
Cooper Flagg finished with less than 10 points twice this season. One was the fourth game of his career. The other he got hurt in the second quarter.
This Rookie of the Year race shouldn’t even be a conversation.
@tomhaberstroh Hell of a video. Really shows what Charlotte was and can be from a fandom standpoint. It’s the old coliseum vibe. All that’s missing is the neon hornets around the arena that would get bigger when we went on a big run.
This happens to damn near every rookie. It’s called the rookie wall for a reason. He’s played almost 80 games. More than he’s ever played in a year and 45 more than last year. It’s a lot for a rookie to physically and mentally handle.
