@jgschraiber @angela_neuro @AcademicChatter I’d respectfully disagree (I’m a grad student). Certainly the PI should pay for celebratory dinners (e.g. conferences), but this attitude makes it financially difficult for PIs to organize more routine lab events, which can boost morale and encourage collaboration.
