The algorithmic selective pricing has gotten out of control... I was looking with my wife for a place to stay in Austin next week for her birthday. On Airbnb the SAME listing was $25 cheaper on her app compared to mine. Why would this be?
@rmfgdotcom now has an API/MCP connection: AI designs a part against their DFM rules, quotes it, orders it. Idea to delivery in just over a week. Custom hardware is about to get a lot easier. Thanks @KennethCassel for the coupon.
@CalebChamberla6 Love this. There have been some big advancements lately with several of the manufacturing on demand services. New materials. New operations. API/MCP integration. I have so many ideas to start a business with these capabilities.
@KennethCassel I did use the MCP! I connected it to claude code and it designed the part in Fusion 360, exported the step file to rmfg, and send me the checkout link without me having to do any work in CAD.
@KennethCassel I've got a part I build in claude this morning. Battery powered tool storage made from sheet metal. Built in fusion 360 and exported the step file to rmfg for checkout. All built with a few written prompts.
Wendell Berry passed away yesterday. I'm almost finished reading his book "The Unsettling of America". His words words, which challenge many aspects of our culture and food system ring truer today than when they were written 50+ years ago. Rest in peace.
Lots of talk about AI changing the software space… how are people using it with legacy systems like Quickbooks Desktop? So many SMBs running on systems like this.
Been thinking a lot about the trade offs of self manufacturing products vs. sourcing on demand manufacturers like @sendcutsend@rmfgdotcom . Prices are so competitive it is hard to justify the time to load up, source materials, and self machine.
This hits on what @TuckerCarlson said the other day about a nation needing a shared language. You can’t have a cohesive collective without being able to understand each other.
I can tell you with 100% certainty from direct experience this is a fact
I was regularly forced as a public school teacher to sacrifice the education of native American children because half the class was trying to decipher the lesson in some random language
Tower of Babel
@JoelWebbon Thank you for admitting this. As someone who came back to my faith during this period, I was furious so many churches closed their doors or refused to let me in without a mask. There were many other lost souls looking for a home, and had no place to go.
What would it take to make high quality goods in America again? Loved watching this series on the challenges and opportunities of sourcing EVERY component in the USA.

Found a bunch of lead footed bugs on my pepper plants over the weekend. Reminded of just how challenging it is to grow food without pesticides. My solution was to individually pick each bug off, but this is labor intensive.
@JaredDHardin Checklist Manifesto was a good read. Talked about how surgeons, pilots, and other professions use them to make the right decisions even under extreme stress and fatigue.
