The worst part about being politically left-leaning is that it is a defence mindset. What are some strategies for an offense?
- Engaging with business and financial literacy.
- Be selfish before being community minded
- Communicate in numbers and impact rather than emotion
There is a lot of rhetoric around men's participation in the upkeep of family logistics, organisation and cleanliness. Have men deferred ownership of the interior of homes consciously? how could a reasessment of the concept of home, help this? 4/4
After being a father for a number of years and seeing a (notably problematic) shift in the USA around the subject of gender, I take a tangential view and wonder if there is an architectural question around gendered domesticity? 1/4
I am particularly interested in the second case. Do we now have an opportunity to assess whether houses serve the needs of each, think a father or male caregiver and a son. Historically, I believe men and boys are encouraged to live externally from the home. 3/4
@Azadux That's great. I am only just awakening to the possibilities that 3d printing for heritage could provide. In particular my Wright's hill fortress project.
@VCBrags Perhaps he would find more fulfilment as a stay at home husband? I am increasingly aware that men (fathers) don't have quite the same ability to be dynamic with their careers once established. Hence, I wonder if he had become accustomed to the role of long term consistency.
Battle Hill graves. Abbott(s), Roberts & Tuite. The latter two were killed in a skirmish between Colonial military and Maori on the ridgeline above this site. Experimentation with compressed JPG from the #DSLR. #Photogrammetry@RealityCapture_#Heritage#heritagepreservation
@Srescs I don't think so because most of mine are under confidentiality agreements. Normally I have to wait, sometimes for years/decades until the designs are built and draw some kind of tenuous connection between screenshots and the physical assemblies...
Some belated #freecadfriday progress... Wright's Hill Fortress scale-model progress using inputs from #blenderGIS and historical data. Using the partdesign workbench for #parametric-ness, mesh to haul the surface in, to sense-check scale and consistency. @FreeCADNews
