The city has a new free service, the AlleyGators, that will come and clean up your alleyway for you. I requested services for my alley a few months ago and they just came to clean it yesterday. Years of dumping and neglect and they cleaned it in an afternoon.
A lot of people in Philly aren’t crazy about the L but I genuinely love it. It has gotten significantly cleaner in the past 2 years, frequency is decent, and goes to a majority of the key places in the city. I’ll love it even more when I live in Northern Liberties/Fishtown
Good news! We're working with @PhiladelphiaGov and @PennDOTNews to install red-painted bus-only lanes on three critical transit corridors in Center City and South Philadelphia in November:
Chestnut St between Broad St and 21st St
Walnut St between Broad St and 19th St
Oregon Av between 5th St and Front St
The Oregon Av phase of the project is scheduled to be completed by Friday, November 7 (weather permitting).
Painting bus lanes red helps to improve bus service/speed, reduces improper use of the bus-only lane and illegal double-parking, and ensures better boarding access especially for seniors and riders with disabilities.
A typical bus rider spends 31 additional hours on the bus every year because of Center City congestion and the slower buses cost SEPTA an additional $15 million in operating costs every year. Illegally parked and double-parked vehicles also throw buses off schedule.
Prioritizing transit can reduce traffic congestion and improve travel times so everyone can access everything the city has to offer.

@clean_utensils I write best when I'm arguing with someone, real or imagined. Having an LLM put out a first draft of something inspires me to do a better job than a blank page
Cities in history to have their NHL team lose, NFL team lose & MLB team lose in the playoffs & be eliminated all on the same day:
Philadelphia - Today
Philadelphia - 10/16/1983
That’s it.
@br___ian I keep my phone in black and white. I make it easy to toggle off and on, but keep it as default on. It's a "Color Correction" filter on Android, and I put it in the pull-down tray right next to my Bluetooth and Wi-Fi controls
Overlooking the city and thinking about the time me and all my friends got to celebrate the Birds winning the Super Bowl and getting emotional and I’m just thinking hmmm maybe we should do that again this year???
