🚨 Thomas Müller on Jonathan Tah’s disallowed goal against Paraguay:
🗣️ “I honestly don’t know what VAR is looking at anymore. What a call is that? The goalkeeper must be the luckiest player on the pitch because, from everything I’ve seen, Germany have scored a perfectly legitimate goal. Jonathan Tah attacked the ball brilliantly, won it fairly and finished with authority. That’s football. That should never have been taken away.”
“We, the Germans, feel used and cheated. This is wrong. This is daylight robbery on the biggest stage in football. If that’s a foul, then football has completely lost its consistency because we’ve seen far stronger challenges allowed all tournament. The referee and VAR have searched for something that simply isn’t there.”
“You work your whole life to play at a World Cup, you fight for every ball, you finally score what could be the winning goal, and then someone sitting in a room hundreds of metres away decides to erase that moment over a decision that millions of people will disagree with. That’s heartbreaking for every player on that pitch.”
“I can accept losing to the better team. I can accept missing chances. But I cannot accept having a perfectly good goal taken away because of an interpretation that nobody understands. Germany deserve better than this, and football deserves better than this. Right now, it feels like we’ve been punished by technology instead of protected by it.”

Herbert Hainer on Germany's disallowed goal against Paraguay after the VAR review:
🗣️ “I am absolutely stunned by that decision. This is the FIFA World Cup, not a competition where goals are taken away for the slightest touch. Germany have been robbed of a massive moment, and I cannot understand how the referee and VAR arrived at that conclusion.”
“VAR was introduced to eliminate clear mistakes, not to invent controversy. There is simply not enough there to disallow that goal. Decisions like this damage the credibility of football and leave millions of supporters questioning what the rules actually are.”
“You cannot ask players to compete at the highest level and then punish them with decisions this soft. Germany earned that goal through determination and quality, only for it to disappear because of an interpretation that many people simply won't accept.”
“If this decision costs Germany a place in the next round, it will become one of the biggest talking points of this World Cup. The referee and VAR have placed themselves at the centre of the match, and that should never happen.”
“For me, Germany scored a perfectly good goal. The players deserve better, the supporters deserve better, and football deserves better than decisions like this.”

RIP Chuck Coleman. Chuck was our aerobatics flight instructor and instrumental in our preparation for Top Gun: Maverick. He was an aerospace engineer, air show and test pilot, and our friend and ally. Chuck had a very easy going way about him and we always felt comfortable with his expertise at our disposal. He was kind, humble and curious about others and the world we live in. Gone too soon but his contributions will live on forever. Thanks for the memories, Chuck
@PoMo_Cowboy Are you fucking kidding me... the man & his family died. Have some grace ffs. Encouraging people to look through their post history. Shame on you.
