There are many in my profession duping people into thinking this is “therapeutic” and billing them for it.
It’s a hickey. Whether you do it with your mouth, kids toy or “cupping” it’s…a….hickey…
Shove the placebo & contextual factors up your A…

@JustinGoffBurch I struggle knowing kids are in HS weight rooms under the supervision of a PE teacher or some coach without any background is S&C.
Most programs are from an internet source, zero individualization, questionable training philosophies, programming and exercise selection.
🚨 REPORT: 82% of physicians are now employed by hospitals or corporate entities. Nearly two-thirds of practices are no longer physician-owned.
This outcome should not surprise anyone.
For more than a decade, Medicare payment cuts, mounting administrative burden, growing insurer oligopolies, and policies that disadvantage independent practices have made this outcome entirely predictable.
If lawmakers want more competition, lower costs, and better access to care, preserving independent practice must be part of the conversation.
No single reform will reverse decades of consolidation. But policymakers can start by fixing Medicare, fixing prior authorization, expanding physician-owned hospitals, and strengthening antitrust enforcement.

Yesterday an acquaintance suggested I start using Turmeric paste for inflammation. Two servings per day for two weeks.
I mean the doctor of naturopathy said it’s healthy so it must be….pay no attention they are also selling the stuff….
Walk away with a clearer understanding and a no-nonsense decision tree to guide when to use sodium, how to dose it, and when not to bother. Access the lecture with 20% off on mysportscience academy. Use code: sodium | https://t.co/HJja2Spwwn
I wouldn’t stand a chance as an independent brick and mortar clinician/owner.
Why?
Because apparently it’s recruiting the best athletes in the area to make cute TikTok videos with you while using money wasting interventions then taking credit for your role in their success
Question for the SoMe HS pro-max out coaches.
I understand you’ve never had an injured athlete on your watch and your results are the best and your teams all win state.
Now that’s out of the way…
Would not maxing out (still heavy loading) impede those results?
US nonprofit hospitals spent $7.8 billion on management consultants from 2009 to 2023, but contracts were not associated with meaningful changes in finance, operations, or quality of care. https://t.co/wllLuhlavP
@JeffreDPT It is harder and harder for private practice OP. Where I’m from there are less and less independent physicians. The majority are now employed by hospital systems and those systems track if physicians make referrals outside of the system.
@Bengal_DPT I can’t for the life of me understand how or if they pay the bills. Living in a zipcode where few have disposable income, they either charge crazy amounts or….
Another example of the best genetic athlete being successful despite the training…and everyone giving credit to the training or trainer.
The trainer could very well have been Louis Simmons, Arthur Jones or Joseph Pilates and Polamalu is still better than most…
@TheDavidWeck How much of the shifting seen in sprinting would you say is voluntary vs a natural product of trying to accelerate or maintain top end speed?
And one more thing:
You have 5 MONTHS until the post-season. There is no rush.
Be patient. Build the aerobic engine and MSK tolerance.
Grinding out threshold sessions & moderate pace/long mile runs may not be in your best interest.
Cross country runners will be entering weight rooms and begin summer running.
A reminder programs should be written in pencil.
Each kid has a different training history, season goal and the weight room is to support, not take away from running workouts

@TheDavidWeck Me thinking out loud…
Do the anti-rotation folks advocate for stiffness under the premise it promotes force transfer?
And are the movements you discuss a product of the massive loads they produce versus intentional…like a “stiff” spine flexing during a heavy deadlift?
In other news….ramming into humans is still a bad idea with serious consequences…but we’ll continue to “study” how bad an idea it is so the public feels warm and fuzzy while satisfying publication quotas, gaining grant funding and growing curriculum vitae….
🏉 Tackle higher or lower? 🤷♂️
Simulation to evaluate how changing the tackle height would impact the number of concussions and head acceleration events in men’s professional rugby league 🤔
