Libraries should look at both quantitative data (likes, follows, subscriptions, ect.) as well as qaulitative data (replies, engagement, comments, ect.) when measuring the effectiveness of their social media. Analyzing these two aspects can help pinpoint what works. #INFO246w719
Utilizing usage data can help allocate resources in an efficient manner. This includes documenting subscription popularity so that the library can use its aquisition funding where it's needed. It can also help determine the necessity of services during certain hours #INFO246w75
@ChelsCuriosity I have definitely seen a significant shift toward virtual activities during the COVID-19 pandemic! Hopefully social media becomes even more useful for libraries to host these programs and improves on user-friendliness.
Libraries, especially public ones, often will use social media to promote their summer reading programs. I have even seen a shift to nearly all virtural summer reading programs! Hopefully this doesn't take away accesibility for those who don't use social media. #INFO246w621
