In early September 2001, the newly commissioned U.S. Navy destroyer USS Winston S. Churchill and the German navy destroyer Lütjens were both docked in Plymouth, England, participating in joint operations and friendly events like cookouts and sports days. When terrorist attacks struck the United States on September 11, the festive mood vanished, and both ships were ordered to sea on high security alert. The crew of the Churchill spent the following days in an anxious state of isolation, conducting drills and patrolling uncertain waters while digesting the tragic news from back home.
On September 14, 2001, while the Churchill was preparing for a routine man-overboard drill, the Lütjens hailed the American ship over bridge-to-bridge radio to request permission to pass close along its port side to say goodbye before returning to Germany. Expecting a simple farewell exchange, the Churchill's captain instructed his crew to assemble topside and render traditional naval honors to their foreign comrades.
As the Lütjens drew near, the American sailors witnessed an unforgettable display of allied solidarity. The German vessel was flying the American flag alongside its own at half-staff, and its entire crew was lined along the ship's rails in full dress blue uniforms. Displayed proudly along the superstructure was a makeshift banner, crafted from a bedsheet, bearing the handwritten words "We Stand By You". The quiet, profound gesture brought many on the American bridge to tears, offering a powerful moment of comfort and shared resolve during one of the nation's darkest hours.
What makes this moment even more compelling behind the scenes is the unique identity of the USS Winston S. Churchill itself. As the only U.S. Navy ship named after a foreign prime minister, it maintains a permanent exchange program where a Royal Navy officer serves as its ship's navigator, meaning the officer who actually plotted the course and guided the ship into position during this legendary encounter was Royal Navy Lieutenant Ray Tosh, a British officer leading an American destroyer to receive a honor from a German crew. When the Lütjens approached, Lieutenant Tosh broke standard military protocol over the ship’s official communication log to record the emotion of the moment, writing that there was "not a dry eye on the bridge" as the foreign allies stood together in the Atlantic.

I was always angry, and I had a huge hole in my heart. Nothing made me happy. Then I got married to a God-fearing woman, and at home she would read the Bible every morning. After a while she said, "do you want me to read aloud to you?" So I sat down, and she started reading the Bible aloud to me, every morning. Eventually I said, "Well, let me read it," and so I started to read it aloud to her. And then it was like the Lord said to me "Chuck, it's time to come home. It's been long enough." And now my heart is filled up again.'

@Sachinettiyil@Tweet7733 The newly installed statue of Jesus in the Lebanese Al Qaa, close to the Syrian border, stands as a testament to the village's enduring Christian identity ✝️, and a sign of hope amidst regional conflict.
@HunterEsoteric It’s sad you keep getting censored on other platforms. It is ridiculous how these companies are so sensitive about peptide discussions!
British Christians are arrested for preaching the Bible or publicly praying in the streets.
But Muslims are allowed to do this.
Why the double standards?
@nursesrock25@jordanbpeterson Emotions/passions direct our course in life. There is no purely rational person. Balance is the key. In addition, the most unhappy people in the world are those who are cut off from their emotions as are those overcome by their emotion.
@jordanbpeterson@nytimes It would be interesting if Jordan Peterson interviewed and collaborated with Pentecostal Christian Mystic Scholars. Like Dr. Cheryl Bridges Johns and Rickie Dale Moore

Are you a powerful, fearless Church of God minister called to go to dangerous places and reach the lost? If so, I ask you to consider speaking to the USAF Chaplain Recriters Booth 829.
The violent aggression against #Ukraine does not stop, a senseless massacre where every day there is a repetition of slaughter and atrocities. There is no justification for this! I plead with the international community to truly commit to ending this abhorrent war. #Peace
@BrianZahnd It’s simple. The USAF Chaplain Corps exists to care for the spiritual needs of Airmen & their families. This is represented in the architecture of this chapel.
I am praying for the United States of America, shaken by the recent attack on Congress. I pray for those who lost their life. Violence is always self-destructive. I urge everyone to promote a culture of encounter and of care to construct the common good.
