1. When you want to bring an email back to the top of someoneâs inbox without sounding pushy

Youâre making it easier for the other person to pick the conversation back up.

About a month ago, i got exposed to the HIV virus through a needle prick while assisting in surgery; a cesarean section precisely. I had to get started on HIV-PEP (post exposure prophylaxis) for 28 days.
I took one tablet of PEP everyday for 28 days religiously without fail.
I slowly started losing my mind without anyone else (aside the surgeon) knowing what was actually wrong with me. Iâve been sleep deprived, constantly praying and overthinking the worst possible outcome.
Yesterday, I gathered the courage to go for a retest after completing the 28-day regimen. The test turned out NEGATIVE and I couldn't be happier.
On first dates, I mostly ask questions around the following:
1. Genotype
2. I usually ask about themselves: things they enjoy doing, favorite meals, birthday, and the major things I need to know about them at first. Like, do you sleep with the lights on or off? đ
3. Who in your life has influenced you the most? This is more important than it sounds. Listen to the kind of people they take as role models or who influenced them growing up. If they ever mention people like Tacha, Saida Boi, or BBNaija stars, you know what to do next.
4. How important is family in your life?
5. Whatâs one thing about yourself you think most people donât notice?
6. How do you handle issues when youâre angry or when things arenât going your way?
7. How do you feel about gender roles in marriage?
8. How do you handle conflict with family members?
9. Whatâs your take on feminism or gender equality?
10. Whatâs the one thing you refuse to compromise on in a relationship?
11. How much influence should parents have in your marriage?
12. How do you handle jealousy, your own or a partnerâs?
13. How would you describe your relationship with your father?
14. How important is religion in your life and relationships?
15. How do you define success for yourself?
16. Whatâs the end goal of a relationship for you?
17. Have you ever thought about marriage, and when do you see yourself settling down?
18. How many kids would you want to have?
19. Have you experienced any childhood trauma?
20. What really happened in your previous relationships? Where did it go wrong?
21. Whatâs a dream youâve had since childhood that you still want to pursue?
22. Do you regret any major life decisions, and why?
23. Have you ever sacrificed something important for someone else?
24. Whatâs your take on forgiveness?
25. Whatâs a personal habit youâre trying to unlearn?
First dates are very important, so treat them as such. Ask meaningful questions, donât just go to eat, snap pictures of the food, and post on social media. Later in the relationship, when you hear your partnerâs view on a particular subject, youâll be acting shocked. Learn about their values, stance on family, lifestyle, career, and other major areas of life. First dates should give you a glimpse of who they are and whether you are compatible on key aspects. It saves everyone time.
Shit tests from female you must pass at all costs.
» When she asks, "Why are you single?"
I just haven't found someone yet. â
I'd rather be alone than bored. I'm picky. â
» When she says, "You're not my type."
I can change for you. â
Types are for people who like predictable. â
» When she says, "Tell me about your ex."
She's not a good girl, blah... blah... blah. â
She's a good girl, just wanted different things. â
» When she flakes on you.
But I booked the restaurant already. â
Hit me up when you're free. â Then go ghost.
» When she says, "My ex use to do blah... for me."
I can do more than that for you. â
Great! I'm not your ex. â
» When she says, "You move to girls like this?"
I don't, but you're special. â
I do, but only when they're worth the effort. â
» When she says, "You're kind of bald, or short."
There's only one good response. Which is...
And yet here you are, still talking to me. â
» When she says, "You're too good for me."
I don't think I am. â
I know, but here I am. â
basic questions if the relationship is about to get serious.

Most presenters lose their audience before the first slide even appears. After studying hundreds of presentation openings, here are five that consistently work:
1. Start with a âDid you knowâŠâ
Shock them with a fascinating fact or unexpected insight. Curiosity drives engagement.
2. Use a âWhat ifâŠâ
Invite your audience into a possible future. This makes your idea feel like an adventure, not a lecture.
3. Share a secret.
Everyone loves insider knowledge. Phrases like âThey donât want you to know thisâŠâ spark instant intrigue.
4. Name your audience.
âThis oneâs for designers whoâŠâ When people hear themselves, they listen.
5. Address a struggle.
âIf youâve ever felt stuck trying toâŠâ connects you emotionally with those who face that exact challenge.
The pattern behind all great hooks?
They promise transformation.
When people sense that something valuable, surprising, or emotional is about to unfold, they keep listening.
Don't assume your audience will listen just because you're speaking.
Use one of these five openers to earn their attention.
