What a beauty to behold! Bambara plants developing nuts in the soil. Bambara is the only crop known as a "complete food", having the required nutrients in the right proportions. WACCI is working to make Bambara nut a mainstay crop in Ghana.

WACCI’s MPhil Cohort 8 Seed Science and Technology Students’ Field Trip was climaxed at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)-Crop Research Institute in Kumasi. Refer to thread for more.

Areas visited included the tissue culture and the seed technology labs. Students were shown how to produce healthy planting materials from plant meristems under aseptic conditions, multiplied and sent to farmers.

On April 26, 2023, WACCI’s MPhil Seed Science and Technology students visited the Akumadan Irrigation Scheme to gain experience in seed production and to view 'seed' through the lens of entrepreneurship to set up seed businesses that will fill the seed supply gap in Africa.
