👨🏾🍳🇬🇭: After last year’s #OccupyJulorbiHouse protest, the IGP categorically denied any brutality by his officers, despite the violence being broadcast live on TV. He even claimed this conclusion came after an internal investigation! This year, they're operating at even more dangerous levels of truth-sandwiches—as a state institution! Have you heard a police man or woman buy Papaye for a suspect before? LOL!
If there's any doubt about integrity specific to these matters, sadly, it’s not with me. It lies with those who have sworn to uphold justice for all, regardless of social standing.
End.

@fourthestategh Civil society n media are the environmental defenders and the pubic officials n politically exposed persons are the looters. We’ll remember these Natural Resources and Environment ministers as the worst of environmental plunderers.
Fellow Ghanaians, I don’t think the good president of this country, @NAkufoAddo is aware that galamsey hadn’t stopped even after putting presidency on the line.
Don’t just tweet #StopGalamseyNow, tag him so he knows what’s new.
Thank you

@luoisdei@SaddickAdams I get ur position. Is thinking legislation will cure this mischief not a bit naive? How much won’t you pay to bury transformative mining legislation? The late good professor tried to renegotiate mining deals. What happened? Miners hv it both ways now…not for long.
@luoisdei@SaddickAdams …Spoken like someone who knows not the history of WB/IMF economic reforms in mining regimes across Africa. We can agree on government corruption but don’t present mining companies as angels. Tax waivers, tax holidays, over paid expat staff, capital flight… yeah that too!
Coverage of our new nickel report in @ecobusinesscom today. We found nearly 80,000 hectares of forest have been cleared to extract nickel, an area the size of Singapore. A further half a million hectares of Indonesian forest are under threat. https://t.co/Ln740neals
We call on Red Rock Power & its parent company SDIC to halt the Batang Toru dam in Indonesia & commit to a public, independent impact assessment of the project. We must protect both the Tapanuli orangutan & the Batang Toru ecosystem. Sign your name ➡️ https://t.co/9Bb4IXWwVt
To improve their viability & outcomes, we suggest CREMAs could benefit from a stronger focus on realizing their resource, political & economic rights.
Examining #CREMAs (community forestry model) in #Ghana, we found that political and economic empowerment are far less emphasized than conservation outcomes. https://t.co/sTxJNAXlPJ
@citinewsroomgh We were promised development through democracy but it stoped at elections. We’ve not seen the checks and balances, rule of law, equal rights, press freedom and the economic prosperity it delivers. Democracy is not failing in Africa, rather election-democracies. We demand more!
