How do you dig a new road through fresh lava that's still at 400°C?
How does an island recover from an eruption that spewed out 200 million m³ of molten rock?
I visited La Palma and saw its remarkable highways and telescopes during the @StarmusFestival:

My interview with Chris Hadfield, the guitar-playing Canadian astronaut, at @StarmusFestival on:
- working with King Charles to tackle space debris
- the new laws needed for humans to colonise the Moon
- and why he *really* hates the film 𝘎𝘳𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘵𝘺

"La NASA es la mejor marca que tenemos en EEUU, es muy alarmante el recorte del presupuesto que planea Trump", asegura el científico planetario Jim Bell, experto en Marte, en esta entrevista durante el @StarmusFestival de La Palma. 📸 @MaxA_Photo

This team is incredible, few truly realize what it took to build and launch #HeraMission in 4 years. Their dedication and spirit is totally unprecedented. Sharing the first images of Deimos together was a huge rewarding moment #Brotherhood (ph. by Max Alexander)
Delighted to have won this prestigious space industry award along with editorial director @DrStuClark & art director Steve Kelly. It's all about the teamwork!

It was my pleasure Ambassador James Larsen @AustraliaUN and thank you so much for interest in my exhibition which features indigenous voices for the night sky @SKAO
'Emu in the sky' is a well-known Aboriginal constellation in the Milky Way that's outlined by dark areas of the sky, not stars.
The striking image is now on display as part of the 'Our Fragile Space' exhibition at UNHQ.
Thanks to @SKAO & photographer Max Alexander for the tour.
The exhibition "Our Fragile Space" by @MaxA_Photo at @UN HQ is a stunning visual account of the challenges of space debris and the need for #SpaceSustainability. Honored to host the opening reception together with @UNOOSA.
