Very happy and excited to announce that I'll be starting my own research group at @emblebi! The group will focus on lineage tracing, somatic evolution and the origins of cancer. Interested in doing a postdoc in the group or know someone who is? Please reach out!
From the October issue: The History of Chromosomal Instability in Genome Doubled Tumors - by Toby Baker, @MaxGalder, @VanLooLab and colleagues @TheCrick@MDAndersonNews https://t.co/BwsSk4s71i
The October issue of @CD_AACR is online! The cover features features work by @TobyBaker97, @MaxGalder, @VanLooLab and colleagues on the history of chromosomal instability in genome-doubled tumors - read that and much more: https://t.co/hKP6Huh9yd
Visionary scientist who’s been a driving force in cancer genomics and somatic evolution! Can’t wait to see what they’ll cook up at Quotient with all that brainpower!
Peter Campbell leaves the Sanger Institute at the end of the year to become Quotient's CSO. A mentor and one of my favourite scientists. His foundational, profound and creative contributions to cancer genomics and somatic evolution have truly shaped those fields. [1/7]
Our new paper on 3D single-cell mapping of immune cells near pre-cancer lesions using CODA in a video.
Watch until the end.

Does cancer #evolution & intra-tumour heterogeneity predict long-term relapse? We tested the evolutionary paradigm in prostate cancer clinical trials with long follow-up, combining genomics with digital histopathology: https://t.co/76aiiba2eP
I’m thrilled to shared that this August I’ll join the Department of Pathology of the University of Cambridge @Cambridge_Uni as a Group Leader. The Machado Lab will study the somatic evolution of the adaptive immune system to understand aging and disease.
🚀 Excited to share our latest research! We developed GRITIC, a novel method for timing genomic gains using bulk WGS data. Our findings reveal non-parsimonious evolution and increased chromosomal instability post-genome doubling in tumors. https://t.co/I2ckeoZIJ7 #cancergenomics
Application deadline for our @EBItraining sequencing course is 22nd July!
It covers all qc and mapping steps, variant calling for short and structural variants, how to analyse both short and long read sequencing data, and the basics of how to build a pipeline.
Spread the word!
New paper introducing RESHAPE, a method simulating genomes of hypothetical descendants that can be used as reference panels safeguarding against re-identification threats. Read more: https://t.co/dGDx0qaEKE. Great work done by Théo Cavinato!
