@MThornedyke@TheRickWilson@ClaudetteGGibs1 That’s what I’m getting at. A growing majority of Rs have been supremely evil - definitionally - since late Nixon years. I just want to hear some open admissions of what they did, bc the elves were far from the only ones.
One of my favorite little joys in life is watching my husband call the vet.
They ask his name: “Jeff.”
Then they ask for our cat’s name… and I see him do this adorable deep breath, like he’s about to propose all over again, before he softly says, “Baby Jeff.” 😭💕
Every single time melts my heart. Who else has a cat with a legendary name? Drop your pet naming stories below! 🐱✨
@JamieBonkiewicz There are journalists and then there are reporters. Journalists have brains and spines and ask tough questions and cannot be bullied. Reporters are just tape recorders or parrots who happen to look like humans.
Instead of just asking "is Pulte qualified to be DNI?" Can I suggest reporters just READ THE FUCKING STATUTE TO REPUBLICANS, WHICH EXPLICITLY REQUIRES (SHALL, NOT MAY!) THE PERSON TO HAVE "EXTENSIVE NATIONAL SECURITY EXPERTISE."
Factual thoughts….@ScottPelley and @mhenryschuster were embedded with my Marine infantry unit in 2009—it was incredibly violent in Helmand. They told our story well. Years later, my unit suffered multiple suicides, they came back to cover that too. I wrote him when I was hired.
"My offense was to think that Hitler is just an ordinary man... That is a crime against the reigning cult in Germany, which says Mr. Hitler is a Messiah sent by God to save the German people... To question this mystic mission is so heinous that, if you are a German, you can be sent to jail."
— Dorothy Thompson, the first American journalist expelled from Nazi Germany by the Gestapo
If we hope to prevent the collapse of education, we must collectively affirm that the intellectual life is good in itself: that research, study, the reading of great books, enrich the soul. For decades we’ve been told knowledge is for losers, and now we’re reaping the results.
Exciting news: my legislation, the BARK Act, is now one step closer to becoming law! The bill will help pet food manufacturers and pet food stores donate usable, surplus food and supplies to shelter cats and dogs in need.
I joined my friends Penny and Julie at the Big Bad Woof, a beloved local business, to celebrate our progress.
Trump hasn’t made a public appearance in 8 days. This after an unscheduled visit to the hospital- because he “likes getting check ups.” Thank God Jake Tapper (or as I like to call him- the Brick Tamland of his generation) is on the case hunting down clues in a book about my mom’s experience as First Lady four years ago.
Cat parents will hear a very specific “mrrrp” and instantly translate it into full instructions like “Oh, okay, you want the heating pad on, understood.”
