Ambassador of Ukraine to Kuwait @MaxSubkh met with @PAFNKWT Deputy Director General Shaima M. Al-Asfour to discuss expanding Ukrainian agri-food exports to Kuwait, global food security cooperation, and Kuwait’s potential participation in the #FoodFromUkraine initiative.
The only reason for Russia’s overnight horrific attack against Ukraine with 656 drones and 73 missiles that killed at least 12, including children, and injured hundreds of civilians is that Putin is a war criminal and loser who has no cards except terror.
Moscow is losing on the battlefield. No number of missiles can change this.
What we can change is Russia’s ability to continue terror. I urge partners to act, not only condemn. There are concrete steps that can be taken.
First. Use the unblocked European Peace Fund to fund the PURL program and buy additional “Patriot” systems and missiles for Ukraine. Advance the anti-ballistic coalition. Increase investment in Ukraine’s long-range capabilities.
Second. Ramp up pressure on Russia through new sanctions, travel bans for combatants, the full use of frozen assets, and isolation.
Third. Take long overdue strategic steps such as opening EU negotiation clusters for Ukraine.
Terrorists in Moscow must realise that their brutal attacks won’t bring them anywhere. That the price for their regime will only increase. That the only way out for Putin is to immediately end this war.
Peace efforts will only succeed when they are backed with real pressure on Moscow.

The @MFA_Ukraine building sustained light damages as a result of nearby explosions.
This unique architectural heritage, built by Iosif Langbard in 1939, has been damaged for the first time since WWII.
Looking at its broken windows this morning, I can state with full confidence on behalf of our entire diplomatic team: Russian terrorists will not make us stop.
Th Ukrainian diplomacy will continue effectively fulfilling its tasks, countering Russian aggression, and bringing peace closer.
It is also important to note that the Russian strikes targeted a historic area, the very center or the ancient Rus’.
Yet another proof we are dealing with hordes of barbarians, not the heirs of civilisation.
Putin wanted to show “strength” but only confirmed his weakness.
Overnight, Russia carried out one of the largest terrorist attacks on Kyiv with around 600 drones, many dozens of ballistic, air-ballistic, and cruise missiles, and a dummy IRBM.
Cherkasy, Kharkiv, Kropyvnytskyi, Odesa, Poltava, Sumy, and Zhytomyr regions were also under attack.
As of now, at least two civilian people have been reported killed and many dozens injured. These numbers may grow. Many residential buildings have been damaged.
Unable to achieve any results on the battlefield, Putin turns to terror against civilians.
This strike was probably meant to demonstrate “strength” to the domestic audience, but instead it only confirms Putin’s weakness. Even Russians see that he is a loser.
His “special operation” is not achieving any results. Losses are enormous, but there is not a single achieved goal. Except that there are no safe places in Russia any more, as Ukraine ramps up its special long-range sanctions.
To our allies, I want to say this: it is time to double down, not back down, in supporting Ukraine and increasing pressure on the Russian regime.
We call for additional defense capabilities, including to protect our sky; investment in our defense industry; increased pressure on Russia, including entry ban for Russian combatants, full use of frozen assets; strong political decisions with regard to Ukraine’s EU accession and other steps.
The world has the leverage. It needs to be used right — to show Moscow that such strikes will not bring any results — and force Russia to end this war.

On May 19, H.E. Ambassador of Ukraine @MaxSubkh held a meeting with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense of Kuwait, H.E. Dr.Abdullah Meshaal Al-Sabah, during which discussed a wide range of issues of Ukrainian-Kuwaiti cooperation to counter common challenges and threats
Right at the time when the leaders of the most powerful countries meet in Beijing and the world hopes for peace, predictability, and cooperation, Putin launched hundreds of drones, ballistic and cruise missiles, at the capital of Ukraine.
This barbaric attack during such an important summit shows that the Russian regime poses a global threat to international security. Instead of peace and development, Moscow pursues aggression and terror.
In Kyiv, entire blocks of residential buildings have been ruined, and there are killed and injured civilian people. Other cities and communities across the country came under strikes as well.
Putin wants this war to continue in order to prolong his control and rule over Russia. There should be no illusions or wishful thinking: only pressure on Moscow can force him to stop.
I am certain that the leaders of the United States and China have enough leverage over Moscow to tell Putin to finally end the war. And this would be the greatest positive development.
