ICT is an effective tool that can be used to study #ClimateAction, students work collaboratively to research weather climates of different countries and create a visual display as an integrated project!
How would you effectively use ICT inside your classroom? #Educ4750#UoNTeach
@HalstvedtSharna I love it! Displaying it out the front of the local schools near the pick up zone would be my favourite spot. It would be sure to spark conversations throughout the community, hopefully raising awareness and creating action!
An amazing project that gives students the ability to express their creative side whilst constructing a piece with a powerful message!
Where would you display this artwork? What kinds of questions do you believe this piece would raise?

Thanks for sharing @ChanelGill_, what a powerful and effective teaching tool. This visual aid gives students the ability to see the impacts of their choices when it comes to waste creating a reflective process. Critical thinking = powerful tool! #ClimateAction#Educ4750#UoNTeach
We must equip #21stCenturyLearners to be the change our planet needs.
We can start by inspiring children to make a difference and educating them on how to contribute to a better future for everyone. Do you think this visual would impact your students?

What an inclusive way to engage students in reducing waste materials!
Thanks Jess for sharing this amazing resource! I’ll be sure to use this during my unit of work!
I personally love the fact that it’s a way to involve the whole family!

This is both a #classroom and #homelearning resource. What a great way to find solutions to reducing plastic waste, and to use this challenge as an at home assessment task. Students can involve the whole family. #sdg12#globaled#EDUC4750
@georgiaforrest6 I love it, maybe they could collect the profits and donate it to an organisation dedicated to helping keep the planet happy and healthy as a whole school community!
An environment team, what a great way to get students involved and enthusiastic about recycling!
Fellow educators, what are some recycling initiatives you’d like to see become common practice inside Australian classrooms? #ClimateAction#Educ4750#UoNTeach
Team Environment! ♻️
At @kegworth_ps, the environmental team makes sure all recycling finds the right home, whether it's 10c refund bottles, soft plastics or organic waste for compost and worm farming.
#LoveWhereYouLearn
These beautiful animals are dying, washing up on shore filled with thousands and thousands of plastic items and debris put their by humans!
What can we do to help, what initiatives can we get involved in to stop this before it’s too late? #ClimateAction#Educ4750#UoNTeach
“Whales fertilise tiny marine plants in the ocean called phytoplankton, which every year absorb four times the amount of carbon dioxide than the Amazon rainforest does and generates up to 85% of the oxygen we breathe”
An astonishing quote that left me breathless! Check it out ⬇️
Sustainable Schools NSW has provided teachers with the necessary resources and activities to nurture student development and give students the tools to investigate and develop actions to become energy efficient!
What are your favourite teaching tools?#ClimateAction#UoNTeach
Greta Thunberg. Who is she and what does she want?

@JuneMatthews_ A comparative study is a perfect idea to encourage students to be active global citizens and explore and relate overseas issues to local events.
You could ask students to engage with other peers to research current topics and provide possible solutions in a shared environment!
"If businesses are wanting to get investment from capital funds, they are increasingly being asked what are they doing about the climate”
An important quote from a relevant article discussing #ClimateAction policies for large Australian businesses.

Recent floods are impacting our environment! The dense 60km long plume is filled with rubbish and debris that has slowly found its way into our oceans!
Organising a school clean up excursion is an excellent way to clean up our beaches! #ClimateAction#Educ4750#UoNTeach
The recent floods in NSW is an effective teaching tool that can be used to educate your students on plastic waste and where the remains of these products end up!
What else did your students find washed up from the floods?
#ClimateAction#Educ4750#UoNTeac
Cleaned a neighbouring beach today. The floods are bringing down debris and all sorts of items.
