Elon Musk is an engineer.
Jeff Bezos is an engineer.
Larry Elison is an engineer.
Larry Page is an engineer.
Sergey Brin is an engineer.
Jensen Huang is an engineer.
Turns out capitalism does reward skills and intelligence, and the richest people are indeed engineers.
Elon Musk isn't the only one getting richer from SpaceX going public.
The stock’s surge is estimated to have turned about 4,400 current and former employees into millionaires through equity compensation accumulated during their time at the company.
SpaceX’s long-awaited IPO raised a record $75 billion, valuing the company at roughly $1.8 trillion.
The offering also pushed Musk’s estimated net worth past the $1 trillion mark, further cementing his position as the world’s richest person.
Now Wall Street is watching to see whether the stock's early trading can drive SpaceX’s valuation even higher, rewarding employees and investors who backed the company during its rise.
“In order to make people equal, you have to treat them differently. If you treat people alike, the result is necessarily inequality.”
— Friedrich Hayek
Idc about all morons saying that society shouldn’t have trillionaires. I was born in USSR and grew up in Russia in the 90s. For me it’s a true marvel that:
- an engineer can get rich by being a good engineer
- an entrepreneur can get rich by building something people want and not grifting on the government or natural resources
- an entrepreneur engineer can become a trillionaire and not be in prison
If the socialists had their way, Elon would have had his paypal profits taken and redistributed for the greater good.
The world would never have seen Tesla, nor SpaceX.
And the world wouldn't know it, because they were uncreated, and thus unseen.
Imagine the companies that don't exist, because Washington destroyed them before they were born.
I'm proud to live in a country where a man can become and trillionaire & make millionaires out of thousands of ordinary, hardworking Americans.
Let me also tell you what I find obscene about his wealth: NOTHING!!!
Bravo Elon!!!

Elon Musk just became the world’s first trillionaire.
To put that in perspective, John D. Rockefeller’s peak fortune is estimated on the high end at 3% of U.S. GDP.
Musk’s current wealth sits at 3.1%-3.7% of today’s U.S. GDP.
I think it is safe to say that Musk can be crowned as the richest figure America has ever seen.
Congratulations @ElonMusk.
Thanks to SpaceX's IPO, he's the first Trillionaire.
He didn't TAKE money from anyone. He CREATED wealth.
He launched satellites that connect even the poorest, most remote parts of the world.
Our world needs more MAKERS like Musk; fewer TAKERS like:
The Justice Department has released new guidelines that find the EEOC’s use of “disparate impact” is unconstitutional.
Good.
Disparate impact is a woke legal doctrine that’s rewritten American standards:
SpaceX created over 4,400 millionaires today, and many of them are regular working people.
They are not executives or founders, they are welders, technicians, machinists, and launch crew, the people who showed up every day and built the rockets with their hands.
Around 400 of them are sitting on stakes worth over $100 million each.
For context, Google's IPO created roughly 1,000 millionaires. Facebook's created around the same. SpaceX is doing more than four times both of them in a single day.
Juan Hernandez is one of them.
