Inacreditável o fato ocorrido na BR-040, próximo à CEASA em Contagem. Dois policiais da PRF proibiram a continuidade de um protesto contra o atual presidente, com um deles chegando a dizer que “temos um presidente eleito” e que aquela ação era ilegal. Por isso, hoje, na Comissão de Segurança Pública da Câmara, aprovei um requerimento para que a PRF preste os esclarecimentos necessários sobre o ocorrido e apure a provável motivação política da ação.

U.S. Marine Scout Sniper and veteran of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan Matthew Sampson came to Ukraine as a volunteer after Russia launched its full-scale invasion.

He would go on to spend 635 consecutive days in combat, serving with the International Legion of Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence (GUR/DIU), including during some of the fiercest fighting of the war.

He fought in several sectors and spent much of 2023 in and around Bakhmut. Sampson served in multiple combat roles and commanded a special operations team.

But one of the most painful moments of his journey happened far from the battlefield.

Sampson returned to the United States partly because his mother, who had been battling cancer, had become seriously ill.

He was 40 minutes too late.

By the time he reached the hospital, his mother had died. He had not seen her for three years.

His father had also died of cancer years earlier — on the very day Sampson deployed to Afghanistan.

Sampson originally had no connection to Ukraine. He said he knew little about the country before the invasion, but his knowledge of Russia and what he believed Russian forces would do to civilians convinced him that he had to act.

So he went to Ukraine and fought.

After returning to America, he took the fight to another battlefield — Washington, D.C.

Sampson joined advocacy efforts on Capitol Hill, speaking to lawmakers about what he had witnessed firsthand and arguing for continued American weapons and ammunition for Ukraine.

And he did return to Ukraine.

By 2025, he had spent more than 700 days in the country. By 2026, his total time on the ground in Ukraine had grown to more than 750 days across multiple trips.

From Iraq and Afghanistan to Bakhmut — and from the trenches of Ukraine to the halls of Congress — Matthew Sampson has continued to make the same argument:
