I am Rick, and I speak for the Agents,
For the Agents shouldn't code on their own.
I’m asking you now, with extreme concern—
What’s that code you’ve just thrown
@jimkwik Teleportation for sure; as others have hinted at, I can mimic telepathy to some degree reading body language and just listening well. Teleportation I cannot even begin to imitate.
@timokonkwo_ 100% push into this. That discomfort is growth. I don't seek out jobs that I've already done, and every time I've been pushed to do something new, it turns out not to be as scary as I thought it would be.
@housecor Considered this on a startup I was briefly advising on; they have a compelling story for sure! Any future side-hustles I'll have to take a look at this as well.
Taking my own earlier advice and bragging on something about myself.
2 weeks of:
> 4 liters of water daily
> 7k average steps per day (up from <4k)
3-4 free weight workouts, 1 hr each, per week
< 1800 calories per day average (target of 2k)
I'm feeling 10x better!
@codewithseanw Oh man, I hadn't seen some of that... that's horrid. Hopefully there is a break in the storms soon and the region is able to recover quickly.
Not wrong at all! Self-promotion is hard for many different reasons, but it is so very critical. If it feels bad, just work on making sure you say something good about 5 other people for every time you brag on yourself. For most of us, that should still enable weekly self-brag
The uncomfortable truth is that it's not always the person with great skills that gets promoted.
Don't keep your head down, churning code and expect people to notice it.
Keep a brag document with your notable work. Talk about your work. Be active in meetings & activities. Learn how to navigate office politics. Get noticed.
It is what it is.
If I'm wrong, I'd like to understand why.
@codewithseanw Thank you for that, sir. Yeah, she started trying to get home 2 days ago... had to get a hotel, uber to Philly... would that I could trade places with her. I guess wifi and cell have been working okay, so there are small blessings to be thankful for.
It's 2023 and your IT team is still forcing the entire company to change their passwords every few months 🤦
PS. I work at Microsoft, and we stopped doing this nearly four years ago.

Probably could have done this on Windows... but as someone who hasn't been a daily Linux driver in almost 10 years, I needed to repair partition tables and format a USB drive... 30s of work and 20m of waiting later, could do it in Linux... no idea how to do in Windows.
This was a great moment... this is seriously one of best moments of humanity I've experienced recently... Seeing Team Hollo and the important work they are doing in an attempt to save lives and minds. #MSBuild2020
@Blynclight - Hey, bought a BlyncLight on 2/20 of this year, have been using it most weekdays since and I love it. However, it now only stays charged for ~2 hrs on a full charge. Am I doing something wrong or are these not intended for full-day battery usage?
@Trevornoah@DamianEdwards . @ReneeWilson7 - teaching the future music teachers of the world, as well as being a pretty fantastic sister from what I hear ;)
I love this, an open team (feel free to join) of technologists, medical professionals, etc are joining together to hack solutions to today's most pressing issues. #nursehack4health
Microsoft and @devupconf have teamed up with @SONSIEL2 and Johnson & Johnson for #nursehack4health where frontline healthcare workers will team with technologists to solve COVID-19 healthcare challenges. https://t.co/bCSpXoDcpr #stayathome for #FrontLineHeroes 5/15-17
