On the United States' 250th birthday 🎂
Tangent as I'm not a huge SNL fan . . . but I enjoyed their patriotic sketches featuring Nate Bargatze as George Washington and this one with Walton Goggins on the Second Amendment or simply "Guns”.
When BILL MURRAY filmed KINGPIN, they needed to shoot him bowling 3 strikes. The Farrelly Brothers told the hundreds of extras to keep their energy up because it could take him a while. Murray immediately rolls 3 strikes in a row and the crowd erupted in genuine amazement.
In 1989, Jim Varney and Robin Williams were caught on camera riffing with each other backstage at COMIC RELIEF III, and it's really amazing to see. The two had a known mutual respect for each other, first met crossing paths on the standup circuit, with Williams even saying that no one could keep up with him more than Varney 🔥 Two legends we lost way too soon
Jamie Foxx's debut on IN LIVING COLOR was also the first appearance of "Wanda" on a Dating Game sketch, but what really made this sketch great is none of the guys playing contestants actually knew what "Wanda" looked like until they walked around the wall. Watch David Alan Grier especially break with Jim Carrey 😂
The bloopers from BETWEEN TWO FERNS are every bit as funny as the interviews themselves.
Watching Zach Galifianakis and his guests struggle to keep a straight face is comedy gold.
