The reaction to Ossoff reflects not only his evident talent but an absolutely ravenous hunger for someone able and willing to wage a sustained, articulate, no holds barred attack. No one on the national stage wields a sharper blade or uses it more deftly. Ossoff is pitch perfect.
The Greer-Offord face-off may prove to be a turning point in Scottish politics. It brought into the open the class envy and warfare, entitlement and miserable lack of aspiration that has lain under so much of Scottish politics for decades. It may, I hope, have lanced a boil on the body politic, exposing the SNP, Greens, Labour and Lib Dems as populist grifters, the enemies of ambition and economic growth.
Have said this multiple times but I will stand by the fact that working in the office is the easiest way to get ahead of your peers, especially early in your career
A lot of young graduates don’t realize that 5 days in the office was table stakes pre 2020
Now you can increase your chances of getting hired at a new job, and of being promoted at your existing job, by just showing up 5 days a week
Not only that, you will build better relationships with your managers and coworkers, which can pay dividends over your entire career
It is the easiest low hanging fruit that exists
Someone who shows up and interacts face to face will always have an edge over someone who you only see behind a Zoom screen
Nicola Sturgeon is the Richard Nixon of Scottish politics. Wins by a landslide then humbled and discredited forever by a career-destroying cover up. Two matters need underlining:
1. When she haughtily told the Channel 4 reporter that of course she would submit her WhatsApp messages to the inquiry she was ALREADY deleting them. Doesn’t get worse than that.
2. She says she was following government guidelines by deleting — her phone could fall into wrong hands etc. We’ve never seen these guidelines or discovered who told her to follow these protocols. But it’s a nonsense anyway since it would surely mean the emails and other messages on her phone should have been deleted too for that sort of security risk. They weren’t.
Her reputation is now in tatters. She knows that. That’s why she cried.
When boys were trapped in a Thai cave for 2 weeks, the world was rightly obsessed with their safety.
When people were lost in the Titanic submarine, the world was anxious.
When 239 people, including babies, are kidnapped and held deep underground by Hamas for over a month…
St Pauli fans respond to their international fan clubs after criticism for their statements regarding the war in Israel, during their match against Schalke tonight.
“People who are calling for a ceasefire now do not understand Hamas. That is not possible. It would be such a gift to Hamas because they would spend whatever time there was a ceasefire in effect rebuilding their armaments.”

I just read an account by an El Al crew member.
An Orthodox Jewish man who preferred to remain anonymous stood quietly near the El Al counter at New York's JFK Airport yesterday.
Anyone who showed him an IDF call-up notice got his ticket paid for.
He paid for 250 tickets.
Hamas rockets have killed at least 20 Muslims, Arabs and Bedouins in Israel. Now, they’ve launched a rocket onto a Mosque in Abu Gosh, near Jerusalem. Hamas is literally ISIS - it will murder all Palestinians and Muslims that oppose it. Supporting Hamas is supporting terrorism.
Personal Thoughts:
(not for everyone, feel free to skip)
For the longest time, I struggled with my identity.
A Palestinian kid born inside Israel. Like…wtf.
Many of my friends refuse to this day to say the word “Israel” and call themselves “Palestinian” only.
But since I was 12, that did not make sense to me.
So I decided to mix the two and become a “Palestinian-Israeli”
I thought this term reflected who I was.
Palestinian first. Israeli second.
But after recent events, I started to think.
And think.
And think.
And then my thoughts turned to anger.
I realized that if Israel were to be “invaded” like that again, we would not be safe. To a terrorist invading Israel, all citizens are targets.
900 Israelis died so far. More than 40 of them are Arabs. Killed by other Arabs. And even 2 Thai people died too.
And I do not want to live under a Palestinian government.
Which means I only have one home, even if I’m not Jewish:
Israel.
That’s where all my family lives. That’s where I grew up. That’s the country I want to see continue to exist so I can exist.
Palestine should exist too as an independent state. And I hope to see the country thrive and become less extreme and more prosperous. I love Palestine and have invested in Palestine.
But it’s not my home.
So from today forward,
I view myself as an “Israeli-Palestinian”.
Israeli first.
Palestinian second.
Sometimes it takes a shock like this to see so clearly.
