One year since our visit to @10DowningStreet🗓️

When @LewisHamilton met with Prime Minister @Keir_Starmer, the focus was clear: tackling educational inequality and creating better outcomes for young people.

Since then, Mission 44 has continued to invest in and advocate for inclusive education, supporting initiatives that help young people overcome barriers to opportunity, championing educators and organisations driving change, and building partnerships that create more equitable pathways into future careers 🌟

While there's still much more to do, we're encouraged by the momentum being built in the inclusive education space and grateful to the young people, partners, and advocates helping drive change forward every day.

This is the kind of law EVERY country should have. France now considers Dog abandonment a criminal act that can lead to prison time.

The nation has taken a firm and meaningful step by calling abandonment what it truly is: cruelty. New regulations include penalties of up to three years in prison along with fines that can reach tens of thousands of euros for anyone who chooses to discard their pet.

This shift follows devastating statistics showing that more than 100,000 pets are abandoned in France each year. Many are left on roadsides, in forests, or outside shelter doors during the busy summer travel season, confused and waiting for families who never return.

Animal advocates say this is the change they have been working toward for years. It finally acknowledges that dogs are family members, not objects that can be tossed aside when someone gets tired of caring for them.

Shelter teams witness the suffering caused by abandonment every single day. Dogs often arrive scared, thin, or glued to the entrance hoping their owners will come back. For them, this law is more than a punishment system. It is a chance at justice and protection.

France has demonstrated what real animal welfare looks like. If other countries follow in their footsteps, far fewer animals will be left behind to suffer and far more will receive the safety and love they deserve.
