Watch this moment of bravery! A fearless Bishop stands in front of Trump during the president’s service & urges him to show kindness & compassion. Trump’s reaction? Indifference
This is the kind of courage that sparks real change. Watch, feel the power & share if it inspires you

In a discussion with @jk_rowling, she brought up the idea of “militant trans activism” concerning why the LGB Alliance needs to exist. As someone that fought for gay rights for almost 30 years, sometimes quite militantly, that makes me laugh.
How the fuck do gay people think they got rights in the first place? By asking straight people politely? By sitting around quietly and just hoping? No. Absolutely not. We had to fight for that shit. And hard. And sometimes militantly.
Now I have to do it all over again as a trans person. I have no respect for LGB minus the T folks such as the LGB Alliance. They are a minority faction within the greater LGBTQIA+ community that doesn’t know its own history.
Further, and wow do I have receipts to back this up, as someone who spent the majority of my life fighting for LGB rights, it disgusts me that there’s a small faction of LGB people trying to divide the community. We need to stand together against right wing fascism.
I shared this pic with Rowling because it’s the truth. Trying to divide the LGBTQIA community is a horrid idea. It’s playing right into the right wing’s goal of divide and conquer. The LGB Alliance must be ok with rising fascism. They definitely do not speak for the majority of the LGBTQIA+ community.
I stand in solidarity with the WHOLE community. All of you. We are in this together 🏳️🌈✊🏳️⚧️

apparently a lot of cis women need to hear this but a world where our faces, bodies, hair, breasts, clothing and voice are constantly scrutinized as "not feminine enough" is infinitely more dangerous than a world where trans women might also be in the bathroom and need to pee
After running a lab that centers inclusion for 4 years now, I’d like to share some of our lab practices that have really worked in case this info is helpful for others.
One of the best pieces of advice I can give to grad students is something that I learned from my time as a competitive swimmer: It's natural to want to see how fast others around you are going, but looking around slows you down and ruins your form. Focus on your own goals & time.
90% of molecular biology is pipetting very tiny amounts of clear liquids from one container to another. The other 10% is doing math on paper towels.
Some days I think I should have listened to my mother and become a wizard.
