@FunkyMonkiesInc @theDeviant @SenSchumer Friend started with $25K. Servicers separated it into 14 accounts, put him in forbearance instead of income driven and forgiveness after over 10 years of low paying public service. When he tried to correct it, they put almost every account into default! Now the debt is $100K.
@SenSchumer Praying the injustice of how big banks, investors and schools misused our most vulnerable populations for big profits will be revealed, understood and righted. Anyone overly burdened and harmed by this system of lies and exploitation should be compensated by the lenders.
@wanderlusterHD @SenSchumer@POTUS Understand, the feds and the Dept of Ed never loaned you money. The big banks did, securitized the debt and then misserviced the loans. It is a big mess leaving borrowers with exorbitant amounts that they really don't owe. Who fixes this, the president, congress or DOJ?
@JCPenny62 @SenSchumer The Dept of Ed and the feds never loaned money to students. Big banks did, securitized them, did not service the loans correctly, and quadrupled the debt unjustly for many already marginalized borrowers. It is about an injustice that needs fixing, not you and your success.
@SenSchumer Please, don't make us go through hoops to have the servicers/banks retroactively do what they should have in the first place, that is put us in income driven and public service forgiveness programs, instead of forbearance, etc. Our debt then would be $0 instead of 4 times more!
@njdotcom Cloth masks made of natural fibers decompose, these others might filter better, but they don't. Tough choices. I don't want to add to the world's waste problem, so I opted for cloth.
@GovMurphy All I can say, we are wearing the masks, but classrooms and hallways are very crowded. And we are no longer wiping desks and washing hands moving from class to class.
@njdotcom Football games are super spreader events. Students crowd on buses to get to their fields and do not sit apart. After the game they party together into the night. I was surprised when I saw it at my child's university with Covid on the rise. Too risky.
@DrEricDing Unfortunately, suicide is another leading cause of death in our country. He committed suicide and found a way to disguise it as "freedom fighting."
@USPatriot46 @IronOmie @Lanikaigal @SenSchumer I paid off my loan for my 1st degree within 5 years on an entry level salary. 30 years later my loan for my second degree is impossible to pay back. The old loans are not structured the same as these new ones. The economy was better then; now it is anemic.
@SenSchumer Free us from bondage. Release us per our 14th amendment rights. It is not fair that banks loaned money at shark rates with gov't backing while they depleted our economy and made it impossible for many to work for livable wages and payback their loans. The system is rigged.
@SenSchumer Please cancel and end this modern form of slavery. The government loaned us our own money, and requires 3 times in return with no affordable homes or jobs. With special programs many of us should have been freed already. Instead we are thrown deeper into poverty and servitude.
@HazeyBeans@MassGovernor So imagine what it is like if you make $15 or less an hour, with a single parent income. I still blame banks. They control housing costs by approving high home valuations then adding high interest and servicing fees. Makes it impossible for renters and owners.
@News12NJ Cuomo erased the indigenous name "Tapanzee" and replaced it with Cuomo's bridge. This in itself lacks the sensitivity needed now by white male leaders. It is sad because he was a strong leader helping his state through the covid crisis.
@CBSNews Always been a plan for decades. Investors and businesses seeking better profits use manufacturing in poorer countries. We let it happen because of cheaper prices. But now we have no jobs to buy these goods, so we push again for Made in USA. Economics not politics.
@SenSanders Is $15 per hour enough for rent? In the 80s I was able to get a 9-5 entry job that covered a small studio apt and basic needs on comm ave in Boston. My kids can't do this anywhere! There's profit, gentrification, etc issues hindering us too. Give us more, profiteers expect more.
@webtheplanet @RepAdamSchiff It took decades to build this system of inequity by both parties. The ruling class is white, educated and benefited, and has no real incentive to understand or change the system. To improve it they'd have to SHARE.
@RepAdamSchiff These rich fellas built their wealth using U.S. infrastructure, and depleting it. They can travel space while we travel crumbling towns and roads. Fix this crazy system.
