I started pilates in December, only once a week to observe how my body responded. This week I added an hour at the gym a couple days after my class and I’m still doing ok. I think I’m slowly shaking off comparing myself to “normal” people and it feels good. 😌
My physical activity has always been a weak spot for obvious reasons. In the past when I got enthusiastic about biking or swimming lessons, it ended with pain and crises. I’m giving it a more mindful approach this time.
Business idea: Expert #phlebotomists who are readily available to those of us with “bad” veins. I book you to accompany me to my appointments, you handle the requested blood draws, and I don’t have to feel like a pin cushion EVERY TIME bc the regular person can’t get it.
I TRULY appreciate the person who will just grab their phone and Google something they don’t know. The human brain can only hold so much information. Remember how glad you were for open-book tests? That’s all life with smartphones is: an extended open-book test.
I’m a new patient in the Novant Health system here in Charlotte and so far I’m loving how efficient they are. Hopefully this tweet won’t jinx it but 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾!
I got a request from one of the medical writers and my response was “Sure, anything for Selenassss!”, but she didn’t get the reference because she’s never seen the movie. I just… it came out in 1997! 🤦🏾♀️
Here’s a compromise I’d love to see: The UK should adopt US-English spelling, and the US should adopt the metric system. We will all win in the end, trust me.
Onboarding to a new account and spent my morning learning about AML (acute myeloid leukemia).

You know those moments when you zoom out and realize how insane life is?
I was in pain last night, mildly panicking at the thought of an ER visit, but I handled it and woke up feeling fine. Now I’m back at my work computer annotating a deck like nothing happened. 🤯 #scd
#RareDiseaseDay calls for better access to treatment & medical representation for the millions with rare diseases! #SickleCellDisease is a #RareDisease. Though there has been some progress with the advancement of sickle cell research & treatment, there is much more to achieve.
