While I may currently be focused on hustling or engaging in unskilled labour to make a living, there is more to achieving a professional dream than just these pursuits. Ultimately, my ideal aspiration is to become a university professor. Inshallah! 🙏🏿🥺🤲🏿

Today, Vice President Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel held a strategic meeting with Hon. Simon Mijok Mijak, Minister of Roads and Bridges, to assess the progress of key road and bridge infrastructure projects across the country.
The discussion focused on removing barriers to timely project completion, strengthening coordination across government agencies, and advancing national development through enhanced infrastructure.
A key highlight was the Paloch–Mathiang–Maiwut–Pagak Road Project; a transformative regional connectivity initiative financed by the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Hon. Mijok Mijak briefed the Vice President on his recent engagement with Ethiopian counterparts aimed at fast-tracking the project’s implementation. While notable progress has been made, the Minister also outlined logistical and financial hurdles that require urgent and collaborative solutions.
The Vice President commended the joint efforts between South Sudan and Ethiopia, stating that partnerships of this nature are essential to building a connected, peaceful, and prosperous region.
He further emphasized the strategic importance of road infrastructure in unlocking South Sudan’s economic potential, improving access to markets, education, and healthcare, and linking communities to neighbouring economies. Roads are not merely pathways - they are lifelines that create opportunities, drive investment, and bring our people together.
The Government of His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit remains on course in its mission to deliver meaningful development for the people of South Sudan - connecting regions, boosting trade, and building a more unified nation.
President Kiir has visited the Vatican Embassy in Juba to pay his respects after the passing of Pope Francis on Easter Monday. He signed the condolence book, expressing heartfelt condolences on behalf of the nation & recognizing the Pope's lifelong devotion to peace & harmony.
Kenya is set to overtake Ethiopia as East Africa’s largest economy in 2025, according to new projections from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). #SSOX https://t.co/fCImqFtvxG

On this special day, we celebrate the resilience, strength, and undeniable contribution of women to our nation.
Women are the backbone of our economy - driving markets, leading industries, and shaping the future of our communities.
I echo His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit's commitment to breaking gender barriers and ensuring that every woman in #SouthSudan has the opportunities and support needed to thrive and take their rightful place as key decision-makers in our economic landscape.
The progress of South Sudan is inseparable from the progress of its women.
Happy International Women’s Day!
