"For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me." - John 6:38
Building a winning team takes energy, focus, and resources. Success in sports is often measured by achievements and the scoreboard. But how did Jesus define success?
From God’s perspective, success is about walking in His ways, loving Him, and serving Him wholeheartedly (Deuteronomy 10:12). Winning in life means living, leading, and loving like Jesus.
How does looking at the life of Jesus inspire you to adjust your way of competing and living? #Devotion #Redefine #winning
Romans 1:24-32 continues the description of man’s falling away from God. Paul said people refused to acknowledge & worship God so the Lord let them pursue their evil desires. Man fell into all kinds of sexual immorality, greed, envy, murder and other wicked behavior. Vs 32 says we know instinctively that God’s justice calls for punishment but many people don’t care. And Paul says what’s worse is we encourage others to engage in this type of sinful behavior. So after starting the chapter with the Good News that God loves us and wants to be in fellowship with us, Paul finishes by detailing how we have rejected that relationship with God. We’re seeing this in our world today but it’s nothing new. This was written 2000 years ago but it is still timely for us. Chapter 2 will show us how God will deal with that rebellion.
"Then the LORD God formed the man out of the dust from the ground and breathed the breath of life into his nostrils, and the man became a living being." - Genesis 2:7
God declared our value at creation, molding us like a potter shapes clay. We are His image bearers. Our value is also affirmed by Christ, who sacrificed Himself for our sins. If you are in Christ, remember: God formed you, Jesus died for you, and the Spirit guides you.
How does it help you to know that God gives you value, not sports? #Devotion #Value

"Rejoice always, pray constantly, give thanks in everything; this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Paul in 1 Thessalonians says to "give thanks in everything," even in hardship. Christians worldwide face persecution, yet we are called to be thankful, knowing God is in control. No matter your circumstances, choose gratitude today. #Devotion #GiveThanks

Dearest Mother,
Col. Doty's wound has festered, and he will be unable to resume command. The rest of our campaign, it seems, is mine to lead. Do not fear for me–whatever the outcome, you have raised a good and honorable man, and I promise I will give this task my all.
