The reconstruction of the Mayflower by Dik Kompier is now displayed at the VVV in Leiden! The reconstruction was planned to be a part of the exhibition “Pilgrims to America – and the limits of freedom” of @DeLakenhal, unfortunately due to the coronavirus this was not possible.
On 8 June 2020, during the ‘online’ Debate in Heritage, Leiden students debated about the statement: The story of the Mayflower does not belong in Dutch history education.
Using information from @DeLakenhal@volkenkunde and @ErfgoedLeiden the students formulate strong arguments!
