Heat exposure in pregnancy affects millions of people every year. Pregnant people and clinicians should be aware of heat-related risks in pregnancy, recognize the early signs of heat illness, and implement effective interventions to reduce risks of extreme heat during pregnancy.
Measures to mitigate against heat exposures include changing work hours to reduce heat exposure, reducing physical activity, lowering indoor temperatures (with fans or air conditioning, when available), and personal cooling strategies
