For the 1st time, the #HRC adopted the #Syria resolution by consensus.
📄A/HRC/58/L.25 was ADOPTED without a vote, renewing the #COI mandate for 1 year.

We welcome this, but regret the failure to clearly reflect the gravity of atrocities committed in the Coast.

It has been established for several decades that resolutions not explicitly adopted under Chapter VII can contain legally binding obligations. The #ICJ famously stated in its Namibia Advisory Opinion. Article 25 of the Charter extends to ALL decisions of the SC.
